The SWAMY EDUCATIONAL TRUST was founded on 17 August 1992 by Mrs. N. VALLIKKANNU. The founder of the Trust desired the establishment of the Trust to meet the Educational requirement of the public and to serve the cause of rural and community development. It first aimed at giving Technical Education to rural as well as urban societies. With this idea, MADRAS INDUSTRIAL TECHNICAL CENTRE AND SRIMATHI LAKSHMIAMMAL MEMORIAL MATRICULATION HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL were started at Chromepet. Later, to introduce advanced technical training and to promote the career of youth, Sri Balaji Polytechnic College and Sri Ramanujan Engineering College were started, which stands as one of the best of their kind in Chennai.

IT Infrastructure:

Our college boasts more than 750 computers and 100 printers spread around all departments across the campus. The PCs are connected via a structured cabled Local area network. The campus is connected with the outside world with a 4 Mbps leased 1:1 internet connection and 6 broadband connections. WiFi connectivity is introduced in some areas for faster access. The clients are connected to a powerful IBM server that runs on both Windows and Linux environments.

Library:

Moreover, constant updating is the need of the hour. Invariable, a well-stocked library becomes the core resource of such vital information. The library is well stocked with a wide range of resources covering all areas of engineering and related subjects. Labs:

Computer Lab is equipped with the latest configuration computers with each student using one computer dedicated to him. The college has a Microsoft campus agreement which covers mostly all Microsoft software products. All high-valued computer systems are backed up with two Uninterruptible Power Supplies of 6KVA and 3 KVA capacities The entire campus is wifi enabled with Jio access points at most of the academic areas.

We Serve pure drinking water to prevent water infection, apart from keeping our surroundings clean and safe, constantly monitored by our resident doctor. The college has tied up with Tagore Medical College Hospital nearby for providing all types of emergency medical aid to students and staff. The campus has a Reverse Osmosis ( RO) plant which provides pure healthy drinking water to all students and staff.

Sports Facilities:

We are proud to have a professional cricket ground where every week, matches and competitions are held between corporate teams and professional clubs. Admission

For admission into Lateral Entry, the candidate should have the following qualification. A pass with minimum eligibility marks in one of the qualifying Diplomas in Engineering / Technology of the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamilnadu / any other equivalent prescribed for the courses. Both Diploma and B.Sc. Qualified Candidates have to obtain the following minimum eligibility marks for admission to lateral entry as prescribed.

Admission Criteria for MBA

Candidates seeking admission for MBA should have passed the Bachelor / Master Degree Examination from any recognized Educational Institution / University in Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, and Engineering with a minimum mark of 50%. They should also have performed well in MAT/CAT Scores, Group discussions, and Personal Interviews.
