The founder of Dakshineswar Ramkrishna Sangha Adyapeath is Sree Sree Annada Thakur, a practitioner of Ayurvedic medicine who discovered seven proprietary medicines for various ailments and became a renowned physician throughout Bengal. Later, Annada Thakur established the Dakshineswar Ramakrishna Sangha Adyapeath near Calcutta with the blessings and orders of Ramkrishna Paramhangsha Devi to take care of the poor and downtrodden.
