ACRI Library
The library was established during the year 1965. New premises were occupied on 28th September 1994. The modern library center funded by AHRDP as an annex to the main library was declared open on 23rd July 2001 for a students' browsing center. The library has been automated through Koha-open source library software. The college library is mainly providing a document collection of Agriculture, Horticulture, Food Science, and allied subjects. ACRI Computer Centre
Computer Centre provides a higher-end configuration computing facility for the students, academicians, and managerial staff of the College. Computer Centre is serving directly by way of rendering internet-ready systems, internet access to the college through the campus-wide computer network & Wi-Fi connectivity. The network is maintained by the Computer Center. The Centre has a provision of 60 MBPS internet leased line connection from the service provider. Around 120 computer systems stretch forth all the Information and Communication Block, faculties, hostels, and Library of the college are connected with the Campus Wide Network.B.Sc Hons(Agri), M.Sc course Computer Practical classes, placement-related online tests, and a training program for faculty and students are conducted at the center.
ACRI Physical Education
In 1965, the Agriculture College, Madurai was established and Physical Education Unit was started in the year 1971. In 1976’s, When there was no swimming pool in and around the temple city, the renowned college had a swimming pool facility along with an outdoor stadium having a seating capacity of 800 spectators. The total area provided for the ground is 9 acres which include all the courts with separate facilities for both boys and girls to play. The playground is located at the foot of the Annamalai Hills. A fitness center was established for boys and girls separately to main their physical fitness.
National Cadet Crops (NCC)

1. Parades on Saturdays
Parades are institutional training and it is essential to complete 40 parades in a year for an NCC cadet. The period is two hours per parade and the regular parades have been conducted on Saturdays from 6.00 – 10.00 AM for four hours (Two parades). In the first two hours, we mainly impart the drill skill to the cadets along with physical fitness, and in the next two hours, the theoretical knowledge about common subjects (NCC, National integration, Civil Affairs, Social Awareness and Community Development, Health and Hygiene, Environmental Awareness and Conservation, Personality Development, and Leadership Development) and army subjects (Basic Organisational set up of Armed Forces, Map reading, Field Craft and Battle Craft, Military History and Communications) will be taught to them.
2. Camps
Camps are outside institutional training conducted with different objectives. A cadet must complete at least one Combined Annual Training Camp (usually 10 days) before each certificate exam (Either B or C exam). In the last five years, our cadets have attended CATC, Basic Leadership Camps, Advance Leadership Camps, State Level Firing Camps, Trekking Camps (Ooty and Darjeeling), Army Attachment Camp (Hyderabad), and National Integration Camps (Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu & Odissa) at various places with specific objectives.
ACRI Weapon training
The art of handling the weapon is also a prerequisite for an NCC cadet to go with weapon drill and also use it during the emergency periods. Every year, the cadets are deliberately taught about the parts and components of the 0.202 rifle, 0.303 rifles, Indian Small Arms System (INSAS), Self Loading Rifle (SLR), LMG (Light Machine Gun), and MMG (Medium Machine Gun). The loading and unloading, Stripping and Assembling, and also the cleaning methods were taught to the cadets with original rifles in the Battalion by the trained army staff.
4. Other training
a) Obstacle training
The obstacle course is launched at our college in 2000 and consists of ten obstacles viz., Straight balance, Clear jump, Gate Vault, Zig –zag balance, High wall, Double- ditch, Right-hand vault, Left-hand vault, Ramp, and straight balance. There is an exclusive class for this obstacle training and will be dealt with by a trained person.
b) Traffic system
Basic traffic system maintenance has been taught by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Inspector, and SI of Police to the cadets in the class and also on the field. The cadets have been given field situations in the presence of police personnel.
c) Fire Fighting
This is emergency training given by the fire service department authorities about how to control the fire, how to safeguard the materials, and how to rescue the people. It involves the teaching of causes and prevention of fire, mode of spread, and different types of equipment to control fire with live demonstration.
d) Yoga training
As per the guidelines of the PM of India, yoga training has been given to the NCC cadets and yoga day has been conducted by all the NCC cadets of India on June 21st of every year since 2015.
e) Natural Disaster training
This training was offered by the Civil Defence Organization (CDO) to the cadets on how to work during the natural disaster period. Cadets can act as Rescue groups, traffic control groups, shelter management groups, sanitation groups, and carcass management groups.
f) Pre- Commission Course Training at Kamptee The NCC officer of this college has completed the Three Months Army Training at Officers Training Academy, Kamptee, Nagpur from 15.09.2014 and 13.12.2014. This course was mainly to equip the officer with all sorts of training for the cadets.
5. NCC day celebrations
The NCC day was celebrated during the last week of November every year. The cadets exhibited their talents by delivering the National Integration Messages in English and Tamil, singing patriotic songs, mime acting, and pyramid structures in a befitting manner. The Dean of AC&RI, Madurai presided over the function and delivered the presidential address.

NSS Volunteers were involved in campus development activities, societal developmental activities, dissemination of agricultural technologies to farmers, and various service programs. The following activities were carried out in the NSS unit of the College. Twenty-five personality development programs were organized for the benefit of the students. Besides, awareness campaigns and important day celebrations were also conducted. The programs include NSS day (24th of each year), International Yoga Day celebration (21st June of each year), International youth day celebration (12th August each year), Unity day pledge and Unity Run (31st October each year), awareness program on endangered tree species, birds and animals, traditional art making – jasmine knitting training program, awareness on personal hygiene to girl volunteers, Dengue awareness program, Leprosy awareness program, Awareness rally on eradication of polyethylene, ARISE Youth empowerment program, Blood donation camp, Eye and Dental camp for students, General health Camps for students, faculties and other staff members, FIT India Movement, Competitions for students on important occasions, etc. The following Campus development program was carried out by the NSS Unit

Fitness Centre
In 2008, the fitness center was established with a motorized treadmill, manual treadmill, rower machine, recumbent bike, spin bike, dual twister, AB exercise, weight lifting apparatus, dumbbells, bench press, and 4-station multiple gyms. The wooden frame along with the glass mirror was fixed in the wall to utilize the instruments effectively. In 2019, a separate fitness center was created for girls to main their physical fitness along with cardiovascular improvement.
