Aiman College of Arts & Science for Women was founded by Aiman Education and Welfare Society in the year 2000. It is ISO 9001: 2008 certified and affiliated with Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. The College, which had been operative, previously at Aiman Education Trust’s Building at Azad Nagar and then moved permanently to the present site at K.Sathanur during 2002-2003. In addition, a Masjid offering salah in an idyllic atmosphere was also built in the year 2006.

AIMAN College of Arts and Science for Women was established by the AIMAN Education and Welfare Society as a religious minority institution with a primary objective of providing higher education to the socially backward section of society in general and minority women in particular. The college was inaugurated in the year 2000 in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, with 50 students registered in 3 undergraduate courses.

The College is located at K.Sathanur, off K.K Nagar, Tiruchirappalli Town, just 5 km away from the Tiruchirappalli Railway Junction, Central Bus Stand, and Airport. The College has now grown in length & breadth. The College now offers 9 Undergraduate and 3 Postgraduate courses, viz., B.A. English, BBA, B.Com, B.Sc. Computer Science, B.C.A, B.Sc. Nutrition& Dietetics, B.Sc. Mathematics, B.Sc. Physics, B.Sc. Apparel and Fashion Technology, M.A English, M.Sc. Computer Science and M.Com. The present college strength is 1131. There are 60 teaching and 20 non-teaching staff members.

The serene campus of AIMAN College consists of an administrative Block, two two-storeyed academic blocks, one resplendent auditorium, a futuristic Computer lab, an ultra-modern fashion technology laboratory, well-stacked automated library, equipped Physics and Chemistry labs, and a revolutionary Nutrition and Dietetics lab. An exquisite new block is all set to open with enhanced rooms and spacious classrooms. A gratifying cafeteria runs inside the campus which serves hot and cold, rich and healthy food at an affordable price for all those who visit the campus. The canteen is maintained neat, clean and hygienic ensuring the health of the consumers.

AIMAN is a campus which attracts students from several parts of the state. To affirm the safety and security of the residential students, the campus is built with a comfortable hostel facility. The hostel consists of rooms with A/C and rooms without A/C, a large kitchen, and a dining hall, clean and maintained regularly. An exclusive NRI block is also available with an air conditioner.

There are 1131 students on roll and 619 are hostellers. The day scholars are commuted by 11 college buses from the city and places 25kms away from the college as well. Discipline and character building are given prime importance in the college. Moral and Deeniyath classes are held regularly. A modest Masjid adds to the spiritual component of the campus.

The college has been registering excellent results consistently in the University Examinations ever since its inception. The college produces many rank holders every year. Most of the alumnae are well-placed and well-settled in our country and abroad. A Special feature of the college is the “MUBALLIGHA” Course- A three-year diploma Course offered under the auspices of the United Welfare Organization (UNWO),  Chennai, and conducted in the afternoons. As a part of Skill development, the students are given Training in Tailoring,  desktop publishing (DTP), Spoken English, Hindi, and Arabic Skills by experts in these fields. Short-term/Certificate course /Diploma courses are conducted in the college by the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Carrier Development(IECD), Trichy. To engage students productively during their free time, students are encouraged to enroll in courses offered by IECD or other extracurricular activities or diplomas / Certificate courses offered by Bharathidasan University.

Scholarships

  • The AIMAN academic year is divided into two semesters and each semester consists of a minimum of 90 working days which shall comprise 450 teaching hours.
  • Fees will be collected at the beginning of each semester. Fees once paid will not be refunded. If a student fails to pay the fees on or before the due date she is liable to pay a fine of Rs.10/- per day.
  • Every student shall pay the semester fees due from her even if she discontinues before completing the semester. If a student leaves the college during the semester, she shall not have the right to claim a remission of any portion of the fees.
  • Those who are eligible shall apply for the following scholarships provided by the government. SC/ST Scholarship and Minority Scholarship
  • If a scholarship holder leaves the college during the semester students will not get the scholarship even if the money is sanctioned, as it will be returned to the scholarship source.
