Akshaya Institute of Technology, Tumkur was established in 2003 under Akshaya Education Trust. It is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Karnataka. The mission of the institute is to provide an experience that inspires students to reach the highest level of accomplishment and personal growth throughout their lives.

The library of the institute is spread over an area of 587 sq. mtrs. and has a reading room with a seating capacity of 120 students. It has a collection of about 1468 titles and 6559 volumes of books. It subscribes to 08 national and 04 international journals. It has 555 audio-visual CDs.

Hostel

Available for both boys and girls separately with an accommodation capacity of 450 male students and 350 female students.

The college has high-tech facilities like computers, high-speed internet connectivity, and Audio Visual equipment to promote winder and comprehensive learning.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

Auditorium

The college has an auditorium with a seating capacity of 500 that is available on campus for conducting institute programs. The auditorium is air-conditioned and equipped with audio-visual facilities.

Transport Facility

The Institute owns several buses that operate from various parts of the city to the campus for the benefit of staff and students. At present, there are 5 buses dedicated to transportation. The buses pick up students and staff from several centralized locations in the city close to many residential neighborhoods. Students and staff are utilizing the precious commute time to discuss/debate various topics ranging from current news to academics, research, and project work.
