Al-Ameer College of Engineering and Information Technology, Visakhapatnam was established in 2001 under Mohammed Vaziruddin Educational Society. It is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and recognized by the Department of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Andhra Pradesh. It is the only Muslim minority institution in the north coastal Andhra Pradesh.
