The All India Institute of Medical Sciences [AIIMS] was designed to serve as a nucleus for nurturing excellence in all aspects of health and wellness throughout India. AIIMS is a group of autonomous public medical institutes declared by an Act of Parliament 1956 as an “Institute of National Importance”.
All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur is one among the four AIIMS announced during the budget speech 2014-15 under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY). The Foundation stone for the institute was laid via way of means of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis at Sector 20, MIHAN on 14th April 2017. Union Cabinet Minister for Road Transport and Highway and Shipping (GoI), Shri Nitin Gadkari, and several other dignitaries graced the occasion. The number one goal of AIIMS is “correcting nearby imbalances inside the availability of affordable/reliable tertiary healthcare services and also to augment facilities for quality medical education in the country”.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur courses are offered at various levels like Undergraduate Degrees i.e. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Science Honours (B.Sc. Hons.) Learning Resource Center:
The primary objective of the Library is to support educational and research activities for the development of the Institute, society as well as the Nation. Learning Resource Center, AIIMS Nagpur is presenting surroundings to its customers to develop his/her knowledge & abilities via library resources & centers which are on par with worldwide standards. The fully centralized airconditioned library spans a total covered area of 2546 sq. M. (G+2 Building). The Wi-Fi-enabled library complex supports e-learning. Group Study Room, Mini Conference Room, and Computer Facility with internet are the additional infrastructural facilities available in the library complex.
IPD Services:
The (Indoor Patient Department) Services have started functioning in 2020. Emergency Services are available on 24 x 7 Basis.
OPD Services:
OPD Services are available at AIIMS Nagpur from 9 AM to 5 PM on all working days and on Saturday 9 AM to 1 PM. The footfall (No of Registrations) at the OPD Counter is on an average of 2000 every day.
