Residential Accommodations:

The college provides separate hostel accommodations to both boys and girls of the college in separate locations. The boys' hostel, furnished with modern amenities is housed within the campus. The girls' hostel is situated in a beautiful and serene location close to the college. They are run in a congenial atmosphere giving students a feeling of being at a home away from home. The students are well taken care of by the wardens who ensure that the students utilize the study hours allocated to them every day in a productive manner. The Central Library provides academic support to all students and faculty of the college. It has a collection of 14,751 text and reference books in addition to national and international journals that deal with the various branches of Engineering, Science, Technology, Management, and General Studies. The Institution subscribes to 66 national and 150 online (International) journals, thereby regularly updating the library with recent publications. Books are classified according to Dewey Decimal Classi.cation Scheme. The Library is equipped with Multimedia Computers with Internet connectivity, CDs, e-books, e-journals, online databases, and open-source resources. The open access system is followed in the library.

Robotics Club:

The Robotics Club of Alpha strives to stimulate interest in robotics among students of the institute. Well-defined goals, an organized work structure, and motivated members are the reason the club is a successful initiative. The club today is an active platform for students to display and develop their practical machine-building skills and knowledge.

Red Ribbon Club:

The Red Ribbon Club of the College works to create awareness amongst students on various issues of crucial importance related to health. It works to create awareness of sexually transmitted infections among youth, HIV/AIDS, and sexual reproductive health. The RRC also prepares youth as peer educators/agents of change by developing their leadership and team-building skills to help them effectively communicate the awareness received on self-protection and prevention and also to encourage blood donation. For this purpose, the club organizes seminars, camps, and competitions for students at regular intervals.

Student Learning Centre:

The Student Learning Centre was initiated to help students interact with their peers and faculty to get any subject-related guidance or support. It provides a congenial atmosphere for learning and professional interactions. It can accommodate 500 students at a time and comprises 10 computers with internet connectivity. The Centre has the necessary provisions like LCD projectors to conduct video presentations that also facilitate effective and healthy discussions between faculty and students.

Cafe/Mess Facility:

The college canteen is a well-ventilated area that serves a variety of South-Indian food and snacks of high quality to students and staff of the college at highly subsidized rates. Adequate seating facilities are provided to accommodate students and staff even during peak hours. It is well maintained with efficient service and has a takeaway counter.

Admission

Candidates are admitted based on their performance in their HSC (+2) examination/ qualifying examination conducted by the Tamil Nadu state Government and through counseling (TNEA) conducted by Anna University, Chennai. Candidates intending to avail of Management Quota seats may come in person to the college campus (as per the Government norms).

The Career Development Cell of Alpha College of Engineering (ACE) is focused on aiding the Academic Departments of ACE in creating employable graduates for the industry who will shape the country’s future. At ACE, CDC is a forum to facilitate student-entrepreneur interaction. Entrepreneurs are involved in mentoring students interested in taking up an entrepreneurial career. Students get opportunities to interact with experts and also benefit from one-to-one counseling. They get detailed information on a host of business opportunities under one roof. Apart from this, CDC takes care of all the students’ training requirements – both Technical and non-technical right from their first day in college. It stays connected with the students till they graduate from college and goes for their higher studies or are placed on Campus or start their ventures.

The training domain consists of the most eminent corporate trainers, assisted by identified Department faculty training coordinators. Right from the first year of their study, all students are given training in Soft Skills and Communication Skills, verbal & Non-verbal ability, etc which are built into their regular timetable itself. There is a well-equipped Communication Lab where students are administered training in Communication Skills. CDC organizes various training programs for the students both by the in-house faculty and corporate trainers from market leaders such as - Ethnus, Futurenet, etc. on various technical aspects along with a briefing on the present market scenario, throughout the academic year.
