Amrita College of Engineering and Technology (ACET) is a co-educational, self-financing Engineering College (formerly Sun College of Engineering and Technology, established in the year 1999) run by Mata Amritanandamayi Math (MAM), Kollam from the academic year 2018-19. MAM is an International charitable organization aimed at the spiritual and material upliftment of humankind. MAM was founded in 1981 by the spiritual leader and humanitarian Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, with its headquarters in Paryakadavu, Alappad Panchayat, Kollam district, Kerala.

The College has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The College is located inside Amrita Institutions Campus, Nagercoil, in a sprawling area of a 100-acre lush green campus, which is situated about 5 Kilometres north of Nagercoil, the headquarter of Kanyakumari District. Nagercoil Railway Station is 7 km from the campus. This campus is well connected by rail and road. Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, is 75 Kilometers from the campus. The atmosphere is conducive to calm and peaceful academic pursuits.

Facilities and Infrastructure

The hostels are under the control of the Chief Warden. The Principals of the respective colleges are the Chief Warden, who takes care of the welfare of their wards. The Chief Warden is ably assisted by Wardens and Assistant Wardens in the smooth running of the hostels. The routine at the hostels includes yoga, bhajan, sports, and games.

Our hostels are a home away from home, abundantly providing the homely ambience that their inmates long for. Besides offering a safe and serene atmosphere for studies, the hostels are also places where students socialize with their peers. Hostel life gives them a new outlook on life and moulds them into responsible and cultured citizens. Hostel inmates have ample access to indoor and outdoor sports facilities. The inmates are required to adhere to a set of rules designed for the maintenance of discipline in the premises.

The Central Library has a carpet area of 500 square meters. It has separate sections like a spacious Stack Area, Circulation Counter, Information Desk, Digital Library, Periodical Section, Reference Section, Acquisition Section, WiFi Enabled Reading Halls for Boys and Girls.

Our library with a catalogue of 51400 Volumes and 29856 Titles and an online journal database, the library offers students a wealth of knowledge resources to aid in their quest for knowledge, the library stocks 48 National and 250 International Journals and 15 Magazines to keep students abreast of the latest findings and research. A stationery store is functioning on the campus. All stationery items including notebooks, record notes, textbooks, and uniforms etc., are available to the students and faculty members.

The centrally air-conditioned seminar and conference halls facilitate the students as well as faculty to conduct conferences / Workshops / Symposiums and prove to be an added feature of this institution.

A well-equipped health centre and first aid rooms are available on the campus. The doctor is visiting twice a week. In case of an emergency, an ambulance is readily available 24 hours a day.

Amrita has the facility of a spacious and hygienic cafeteria that caters to the taste of all students. It can conveniently accommodate 100 students at a time. The cafeteria is provided with modern furniture, electrical cooking and storing facilities which provide delicious breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages both for students and staff at reasonable rates. Separate space is available for students and staff. It is well maintained with effective service. It remains open on all working days from 08.30 AM to 05.00 PM.

Amrita Institutions, Nagercoil Campus provides well-organized transport facilities that ensure the safety of the students: The Students who avail of transport facility should fill in the bus requisition form adhering to the rules and regulations of the transportation department: Our college buses ply over across various places in Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli districts and the nearby regions of Kerala: It is operated on specific timings in the mutually agreed boarding and alighting points. Details of various bus routes, and name of boarding points with boarding timings for the forward journey is given below. Like the forward journey, college buses will leave the campus at 04:15 PM for the return journey. Separate bus facilities from and to Vadasery via Putheri and Parvathipuram will be operated as holiday routes based on demand from students and staff for attending/conducting special lab/theory classes and programmes.
