Anand Agricultural University (AAU) was established in 2004 under the Gujarat Act. It was the vision of two of the country's leading personalities, Dr. K.M. Munshi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who had the vision to establish a state-of-the-art university for horticulture and home science. Currently, the university has seven colleges and 17 research centers. There are also six extension education institutes. The campus is located in the city of Anand, which is part of the Ahmedabad metropolitan region.

Accreditation and Ranking

The university has been ranked 40th in India and first in Gujarat. ICAR ranks the university as the 24th best agricultural university in the world for 2019. Anand Agricultural University was ranked 67 in the 2019 NIRF ranking in the University column and 96 in the general category. Anand Agricultural University is affiliated with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
