The Anand Mercantile Samaj Seva Trust (AMSST) realized the need to educate youngsters in a real sense and prepare them for future challenges and make good careers. The Trust established a college named Anand Mercantile College (Affiliated with Sardar Patel University ) in 1999 with courses of BCA and B.Sc., later courses like B.Sc. Biotechnology (2003) and BBA Special (2004) were added to the college.

Another two additional courses M.Sc. (Information Technology) and M.Sc. (Biotechnology) were also introduced in the year 2007 in the college with the help of efficient, competent, and highly qualified faculty members. The college now runs these, full-time Degree Programs successfully. We have started B.Com. Special (English medium) from June-2011.

The college is housed in four storied building with spacious classrooms, a conference hall, and well-equipped laboratories with all the modern and sophisticated equipment, which aid in the learning process.

In addition to core books, books recommended by lecturers are also available for extra reading. A request from students for a new book related to the course is also fulfilled. The Library is a useful starting point for student study and research needs. It stocks books related to the course content and additional reading and other e-materials relevant to their courses.

It has a vast library with a collection of 4700 books on the racks. This library does have various DVDs as interactive study materials. It has an advanced computer lab with a seating capacity of 200 workstations. The Biotech lab is one of the best to equip with the latest lab equipment. Its building complex is four stories having spacious classrooms and halls. The entire building is well famed as a modern college.

Their placement cell is functioning well for the career prospects of its students. They have listed companies in their tie-up and come regularly for campus hiring. They do bring more ties up with corporate and MNC companies like HDFC, ICICI, Religare, ShareKhan, Rich India Ltd, Birla SunLife, and more every year. The grooming of their students is also taken care of by conducting mock interviews and group discussions. They also conduct various skill development programs.

The College has a well–organized and well–equipped computer laboratory having enough work-station(>250 pc), LCD projectors, overhead projectors, and internet which provide on-hand learning facilities to complete the teaching/learning process. The college has Highly sophisticated biotechnology laboratories equipped with modern equipment has been established in the college to help the students understand and learn the subject better. The facility includes PCR, a Gel documentation system, gel electroscopes (Vertical and Horizontal), good-quality microscopes, Shakers, centrifuges, and so on…The laboratory includes all the latest instruments required for the student to learn more about their respective subjects
