Anvarul Islam Arabic College was established in the year 1962 at Kuniyil, a rural area in Kizhuparamba village, Eranad Taluk of Malappuram District. The grounding vision of the institute was to set up a center of higher learning for foreign languages with a special emphasis on the Arabic language and Literature. The college aimed at social and educational upliftment of backward communities with a blend of progress, secularity, and moral ethos under the leadership of Kuniyil Humathul Islam Sangam and Late K.V Moosa Sullami, an educationist and social reformer. The higher education of Muslim girls was yet another founding principle – at an age where avenues of literacy were not open to Muslim women. The first batch of the College’s Afzal Ul Ulama course hence had a large number of girl students overcoming hurdles of superstition and credulity. Anvarul Islam Arabic College Committee got registered in the year 1975 as per the Societies Registration Act (Reg. No. 11 of 1975). The committee is grounded on principles of equity and inclusivity, opening up avenues of knowledge to men and women of the locality, awakening them from the intellectual pauperism of the era and hence pruning the area with holistic educational and socio-cultural development.

The Library was fully automated in 2012 onwards with Book Magic software and changed to KOHA software in 2019 onwards. The library has a large collection of books, national-international journals, magazines, periodicals, Project Reports Conference Proceedings, etc. The digital library is well equipped with online databases like, NLIST-INFLIBNET and e-book collections, etc. It also has a digital repository system (Calibre). We are conducting various User Orientation Programs on library facilities such as N-List. NDL, Calibre, OPAC, etc. The library is conferring every year the best library user award. The book collection drive started in 2019 January onwards. We also launched a historical museum. The students contributed antiquities and old equipment to set up a historical museum.

Hostel:

The college provides hostel facilities for boys and girls. Separate hostels are there for men and women. The College is generating funds from philanthropists and well-wishers to accommodate financially backward students. A corpus fund is generated for the smooth functioning of the same. The majority of students received fee-wavering and concession benefits from Hostel Welfare Schemes.

Health & Fitness Centre:

The health and fitness center is equipped with fitness equipment. For everyone, physical activity and exercises are important. Regular physical activity promotes good health and improves overall quality of life. The fund for the Health and Fitness Center was generated by the PTA Committee (2020-21).
