Aquinas College is stepping into the year of its Ruby Jubilee Celebrations. Situated in Edakochi, just 100 meters from the State Highway, the institution is hemmed in by Palluruthy to the west, Aroor to the south, and Kumbalam to the east. Established in 1981 by the Diocese of Cochin, under the guidance and patronage of His Excellency Rt Rev. Dr. Joseph Kureethara, the late Bishop of Cochin, Aquinas College has been instrumental in the rapid educational progress of the youth in this area.

Established in 1981 by the Diocese of Cochin, under the guidance and patronage of His Excellency Rt Rev. Dr. Joseph Kureethara, the late Bishop of Cochin, Aquinas College has been instrumental in the rapid educational progress of the youth in this area. The late Bishop envisioned the transformation of this region through this institution which would act as a center for academics and culture. Located in the suburbs of the ever-expanding Cochin city, areas such as Chellanam and Kumbalanghi of West Kochi have had to face negligence from all corners. Up to the 1980’s the students from these areas had to depend on the institutions in Ernakulam for higher education.
Aquinas College, Kochi Affiliated with the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, and is Approved by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Physics, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Mathematics, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Electronics, Bachelor of Arts (BA) English, Bachelor of Arts (BA) Economics, Master Of Commerce (M.Com.) Finance, Master of Science (M.Sc.) Physics, Master of Science (M.Sc.) Biotechnology.

Library:
The college has 21000 books in the College library become one of the most opted resource hubs in the college. Apart from the required textbooks and references, They have a diverse variety of literary books and those catering to the varied interests and tastes of the readers covering general topics, languages, history, philosophy, art, etc.
Sports:
The college has the following sports facilities for all students like:- Hockey field, Two Morrum Tennis Court, a Standard size concrete Tennis Court, Basketball court, a Volleyball court, Handball/ Throwball court, Ball/shuttle badminton courts, 333 meters cycling track/ athletic running track, Jumping pits for both long jump and high jump, Indoor Area for Table Tennis and Wrestling.
I.T Infrastructure:
The College possesses 123 computers with internet facilities and free Wi-Fi connections. The College is well equipped with a Network Centre, 6 Browsing centers, and 4 Computer Labs.
Auditorium:
The College Auditorium, with pristine white tile and a beautiful ceiling roof, is located on the second floor of the main building and has the capacity of accommodating more than 3000 seats at a time. A fully furnished Conference Hall on the ground floor with a seating capacity of 300 is an additional asset to the College where various seminars and workshops are held.
Laboratories
The college has both conventional labs as well as computer labs under various departments. The Physics and Electronics laboratories are well equipped with ultra-modern devices like Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Ultra Sonicator, Magnetic Stirrer, Hot Plate, Hot Air Oven, Digital and Analog Trainer kits, Microprocessor, Microcontroller, PIC, and ARM kits. The Biotechnology Lab is well furnished with the latest equipment like a PCR machine, UV Spectro Photometer, Blotting System, UV Transilluminator, etc. The lab also provides all facilities required for tissue culture. Apart from the separate computer labs for the departments of Mathematics, Physics, and Electronics, the college has also installed a Commerce lab with tally software and a language lab under the direction of the English Department to improve the language skills of the students.
Faculty:
There are more than 6 lectures in our department, ages 25 to 50 ages, they are postgraduates, they are specialized in providing classes, and they have industry experience and certificates. The lecturers have 20 years of experience in the teaching field and some are more than that.
Placement:
Placements and job opportunities are not bad. But as it was a college of arts and science with few bachelor programs they don't have many placements. But workshops and guidance programs were used to conduct to help students to seek a job.
To provide opportunities for higher education to economically and socially backward communities, especially to the Latin Catholic minority community, and also to strive for educational excellence and the development of the whole person. To make its mission fruitful, Aquinas College is willing to incorporate all innovations and research in the field of higher education, especially the advantages of information technology.
Develop the college into a center of excellence, to provide opportunities for study and research to the highest level of society with special attention to its marginalized sections.
