Arunachala College of Engineering for Women is a project of the Thottam Madhavan Educational and Charitable Trust was The First Engineering College exclusively for Women located in Kanyakumari District as of 2009. The trust engages in social and educational initiatives to meet the needs of the time. The trust began its journey at Arunachala School and continues its forward work with the Women's Engineering College.

An uninterrupted power supply is available within the hostel.A mess committee comprised of students' representatives, takes care of the food menu at the hostel. Mobile phones are completely prohibited. Instead, the coin box, located in the hostel's office can be used by guests of the hostel. The residents of the hostel are able to go home with the proper permission of their parents. The hostel offers a home away from the home environment for our students.

Our library in the college has greater than 8500 volumes of books. every year, 1500 books are added. In addition, DEL Net E-Journal / E-Book service is offered within the library. This service allows users to access over 200 journals through mail as an element of the curriculum. The library houses a large and unending collection of reference material along with subscriptions to periodicals, dailies and journals with international and national fame. A separate library with all the facilities will be set up in the near future. An E-Learning facility is available within the Central Library.
