It owes its inception in 1946 to a few dedicated and farsighted members of Arya Samaj came together in 1945 and pooled their wisdom to undertake the venture of opening a college to cater to the educational needs of the area.

The college has a large air-conditioned, partially digitalized, and well-stocked library. This library has over 57000 books and subscribers to 22 newspapers as well as 23 periodicals or journals. There is also a selection of audiobooks and an additional section specifically for different-abled students. In the past year, Braille software has been installed in libraries for visually impaired students. The library is open to all students between 9 am and 4 pm every day. They also provide textbooks to students on exams with a deposit of security to encourage the habit of reading among students. A library society has different tasks to help develop the reading habits of students. A library society is established each year. •Merit scholarship: Students who have secured 95% and above in 10+2 are awarded concession per annum and those who have secured 90% and above in 10+2.
•Prof. L. S. Jaggi Scholarship: This scholarship is granted to poor and needy students.
•Prof. T. D. Kohli Scholarship: Awarded to toppers in MA Political Science.
• Miscellaneous Scholarships: Some of the other scholarships awarded to students are the Sai Seva Trust Scholarship, Bharat Vikas Parishad Scholarship, Senior Citizen’s Concave Scholarship, Nehru Siddhant Kender Trust Scholarship, and Shri Hanuman Seva Parivar Scholarship.
