The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was established in November 1945 to serve as a national-level advisory body for technical education. Its primary objectives include conducting surveys on existing technical education facilities, promoting coordinated development across the country, and ensuring qualitative enhancements alongside planned quantitative growth. The AICTE Act was enacted to establish norms and standards, facilitate proper planning, and regulate technical education comprehensively.

The Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) operates as an independent body under the Government of Maharashtra, entrusted with overseeing Diploma Level Technical education within the state. Its key responsibilities encompass curriculum development, ensuring effective implementation strategies, conducting faculty development programs, fostering student development initiatives, facilitating industry-institution interaction, monitoring academic activities, and conducting online evaluation activities. In recent times, MSBTE has expanded its scope by venturing into skill development activities, thereby enhancing its service portfolio. Recognizing the evolving demands of the industry, MSBTE has revised its curriculum to align with industry expectations, aiming to enhance employability prospects for diploma students, a crucial aspect implemented since the academic year 2017-18.

Based on close engagement with the system and incorporating suggestions and feedback from stakeholders, my commitment lies in enhancing various processes and adopting advanced technological implementations and evaluation techniques for the benefit of students and other stakeholders.

Approval by AICTE

As per law, Universities do not require AICTE approval. Only institutions which are affiliated to Universities require approval. Pharmacy Council of India (PCI)

The Pharmacy education and profession in India upto graduate level is regulated by the PCI, a statutory body governed by the provisions of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 passed by the Parliament. ? The Pharmacy Act 1948 was enacted on 4.3.48 with the following preamble- "An Act to regulate the profession of pharmacy. Whereas it is expedient to make better provision for the regulation of the profession and practice of pharmacy and for that purpose to constitute Pharmacy Councils". ? The PCI was constituted on 9.8.49 under section 3 of the Pharmacy Act.
