Our College of Education emerged from the vision and mission of producing high-quality teachers in the field of education. It is an extension of the ASSEFA education program. It was started in 2009 with 100 students in the first batch. So far we had 6 batches of Students with the Help of the best Teachers with Gandhian values such as non-violence and passion to serve the poor people. We have 47 students in this current academic year 2015-2016. Our institution has been recognized by NCTE, Bangalore (NO.FSRO/NCTE/B.Ed/2008/6011 dated 10.10.2008) as well as TNTEU of Government of Tamilnadu (NO: TNTEU/R/Affin/B.Ed/N2009-2010/464 dated 12.08.2009). Recently we got revised recognition order from NCTE, Bangalore (FSRO/NCTE/APSO9013/B.Ed/TN/2014-15/63995 dated 05.05.2015) as well as TNTEU from continuation provisional affiliation order (TNTEU/R/Affin./Syn-Aug2015-Item No27.16/2015/175 Dated on 08.02.2016).

ACOE Infrastructure and Facilities

ACOE INFRASTRUCTURE

We have all essential infrastructures within an area of 28,000 sq. ft. with spacious requirements. The campus is green and free from all kinds of pollution. Their infrastructures include reception, administrative office, classrooms, staff rooms, separate toilets for boys and girls, laboratories, library, computer center, seminar hall, restrooms for students, sports center, hostel Facility for both boys and girls separately, viruchum ( Counseling center), etc. We have enough and safe drinking water supply. A backup generator facility is also provided to make the college independent of the public power system. Two blocks namely Gandhiji and Vinobaji are with pavements and colourful gardens. We have a playground suitable for playing volleyball, badminton, and tennis. The entire campus is protected by the compound wall as well as private security agency workers. All buildings in the college are interconnected with the public addressing system (PAS). A separate seminar cum auditorium is available with furniture and audio-visual facilities.

ACOE LIBRARY

There are five thousand books including encyclopedias, dictionaries, text references, Subject related, Educational philosophy, and story books available. Reading rooms with journals, newspapers, Gandhian Thoughts Books, and magazines are available for the use of students and teachers. Adequate furniture is provided for the convenience of the students.

ACOE LABORATORIES

Labs for Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology have been erected with all necessary equipment and furniture. 10 computers with necessary accessories have been installed with adequate furniture. Language Lab has been set up with the required furniture and individual cabin with Head phones for the students and the instructor. Educational CDs, slides, and charts have been provided. Necessary instruments and materials have been provided to give training in Arts and Crafts along with regular subjects. The psychology lab is set up with a complete set of psychology instruments and study materials. The education technology lab is furnished with a slide and filmstrip projector, Epidiascope Over Head Projector, LCD Projector, and Canon Power Shot SX510HS Digital Camera.

ACOE PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Provisions have been made for outdoor and indoor games. Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Cricket, Tenni kit, Badminton, and shuttle cot, etc. There is a hall for Gymnastics with all instruments; Indoor games like Carom, Chess, and Chinese Checker are available. Sports events like running, throwing, and jumping are also given importance for the proper physical and mental growth of the students. It has been planned to give Yoga classes for the students.  

ADMISSION PROCEDURES

The application has been submitted with all relevant documents to the National Council for Teacher Education, Bangalore for approval. The call for admission for both men and women will be made on availing the approval. The students who graduated in the following discipline - Tamil, English, Maths, Physical Science and Biological Science and History are eligible to apply.
