Assumption College has had a rich heritage since its inception in 1949. The college is a highly sought-after college in the central region of Travancore in the state of Kerala. Assumption College is a minority Christian institution governed by the Archdiocese of Changanassery. In keeping with the Catholic tradition of instilling the highest academic standards with the highest moral values, Assumption College has sought to distinguish itself in higher education for women with honesty and integrity.  Students from different states of the country as well as outside of India receive a quality education.

Library: 

“The library is at the heart of college work,” said former Indian President Dr. S. Radhakrishnan rightly so. The library is the heart of any educational or scientific institution because it is a source of wisdom from which everyone can quench their thirst for knowledge. Any scholarly work begins with a large number of sources available in the library and the work proceeds from these sources. So if you have a burning thirst for knowledge, you cannot avoid going to the library to quench it. The library exists to provide the right information to the right users at the right time. Archbishop Kavukattu Central Library was established in 1953. Construction of the new building began on October 23, 1992, with a cornerstone ceremony by Archbishop Mara Joseph Powathil, then Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Changanacherry and Patron of the College.  The new Library Building was dedicated by the Archbishop on September 27, 1994, and inaugurated on October 30, 1994, by Mrs. Annie Prasad IAS, Member and Secretary of the National Women's Commission. The interior of the library was renovated and inaugurated by Mar Joseph Perumthottam on December 10, 2021.

Computer room: 

The Faculty of Computer Science has 3 air-conditioned individual laboratories for Bachelor, BCA, and Master courses. The environment, device height, and seating arrangement are comfortable enough for students to enjoy long sessions of programming and experimentation. Both legacy systems and advanced systems are available to students to meet their needs. The laboratory with comprehensive infrastructure is available to students in a holistic way - in the areas of science and research, competence development, and self-competence as well as entrepreneurship. 

Hostels:

A unique attraction of Assumption College is the residential facilities it offers. Around 900 students share these facilities in six college-affiliated dormitories. Residents undergo special training that prepares them to face life's challenges by deepening their faith, creating a sense of discipline, fostering friendship and kindness, respect and tolerance so important to community life, and fully developing their talents.
