The milestone for Aurora’s Degree and P.G.College was laid by a young man fresh from his engineering in Computer Science. Mr.Ramesh Nimmatoori, rather than looking for a career in Industry, ventured into establishing an educational institution that has blossomed into a full fledged Society “Aurora Consortium”. It was the year 1989, which is a landmark in the history of education field in India, when the Aurora Degree College was started with four Departments, sixty-two students and limited faculty members, at Habsiguda later shifted to Gandhinager. In December 1992 the college was shifted to Chikkadpally. Since then it is constantly progressing to make motivated students and staff engaged in active learning through the best use of modern technology. To develop young individuals who think, question and are curious through enquiry-based learning.

The first step towards Aurora's degree and P.G. College was set by a young man who had just graduated from his engineering degree in Computer Science. Mr. Ramesh Nimmatoori, instead of trying to find a job in Industry began to establish an educational establishment which has grown into a fully fledged society "Aurora Consortium". The year was 1989, an important moment in the development of the education field in India and was the year that it was when the Aurora Degree College was started with four departments with sixty-two students, and a few faculty members. It was located in Habsiguda the college was later moved to Gandhinager. In December 1992, the school was moved to Chikkadpally. Since then, the college has been moving forward to get active staff and students in active learning by making the best use of the latest technology. The aim is to create young people who are able to think, ask questions and are curious by utilizing enquiry-based learning.

Computer Lab

It works in conjunction in conjunction with Commerce lab to conduct IT workshops. The lab is equipped with an accounting program "Tally" with the aim of learning accounting techniques using computers.

Sports and Games

Aurora student teams are regularly involved in intercollegiate competitions at Osmania University. Coaches' camps are held regularly with games such as Table tennis Volley ball Basket ball Athletics, Korf ball, Boxing, Badminton, Chess, Carroms, Soft ball, Cricket and Swimming. The team of the college took home in the Red Bull Inter college cricket tournament at the state level and was able to participate in an All India meet held at Mysore. College team took the first position in the inter-college badminton tournament and Soft ball competition.
