The year 1989 marked the beginning of the century and it was a turning point in the development of education in India and was the year that Aurora Degree College was established. Aurora Degree College was started with four Departments, sixty-two students, and only a handful of faculty in Habsiguda and later transferred to Gandhinager. One of the top fifty colleges in the country Aurora Degree College has a wide reputation for its high quality of education and its holistic approach to improving the education of students. Coaches' camps are held regularly with games such as Table tennis Volleyball Basket ball Athletics, Korf ball, Boxing, Badminton, Chess, Carroms, Softball, Cricket, and Swimming. The college team took home the Red Bull Inter-college cricket event at the state level and was able to participate in The All India meet held at Mysore. The team won the first position in the inter-college ball badminton championship as well as in the softball tournament.
