P.D.E.A's Baburaoji Gholap College, Sangvi, Pune-27 was established in June 1989 with the motivation of the Late Prof. Ramakrishna More, President of PuneDistrict Education Association. The College was established, keeping in view the fact that there was no college of higher education within the fast-developing area ofSangvi, Aundh, Baner, Wakad, Kalewadi, Pimple Gurav, Pimple Nilakh, Thergaon, etc. The major population in this area comes from the middle class and is economically weak.

From the same year, all the students have been given open access to books so that they can see, read and then issue the books for home reading. Students can also issue separate books & magazines for reading in the reading hall as a "Reference Service". More than 100 students can sit in the study hall and all library functions have been partially automated with "ERP" Library Management Software. Journals and Magazines are purchased for library users and the library is having a membership to Jaykar Library, Savitribai Phule Pune University to meet users' needs. The college registered under N-LIST Program for e-resources having 31, 35, 000 e-books and 6000 e-journals.
