Baselios Mathews II College of Engineering (BMCE) is named after its founder, the late H H Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Mathews II, the sixth Catholicons of the East and the Malankara Metropolitan of Malankara Orthodox Church. He was also the first Chairman of the institution. This renowned college is managed by Dr. C T Eapen Trust under Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. The institution started functioning in 2002 with the monumental objective of promoting academic excellence and competence in students, especially in the fast-growing global domain of Engineering and Technology. Located in the picturesquely beautiful Muthupilakadu in Sasthamcotta in the Kollam district of Kerala, the college stands out for its magnificent buildings and ultra-modern Infrastructure; a fascinating blend of architectural excellence and functional values. Affiliated to the University of Kerala and later to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, this self-financed institute currently provides 6 AICTE-approved UG courses.

College Library:

The Library houses a store of various books from the best authors in the world from the electronics sector. We also encourage students to use the digital library archives and supplement themselves with repositories and services of NPTEL and other similar allied services.

The Library houses a store of more than 23000 books, and more than 300 International and National Journals from the best authors published in popular Journals covering various branches of Engineering & Technology, Management, and Humanities. A New completely wooden-furnished library is equipped with an International and National Journals Section, Reference Section, Books section, Digital Library, e- Library,

IT Infrastructure:

More than 10 Ultra modern computer labs, Research and Development Center, Academy centers of Microsoft, Cisco, and HP, and Tie-ups with MICROSOFT, CISCO, HP, National Instruments, Xilinx, Yokogawa, Prolific, and Autodesk are major attractions of BMCE. 

Language Lab:

The language laboratory has emerged as an extremely effective and popular aid to modern language teaching. It facilitates the "immersion" method of language learning which has long been acknowledged as the shortest route to proficiency in a foreign language. This helps them improve their listening comprehension and pronunciation. Students are able to listen, practice and learn at their own pace and get individual attention from the teacher who monitors each one's progress.

Transportation:

A full-fledged Transport Department is functioning in the college with 10 buses to provide transport facilities to students and staff from various places to the college and back. The Transport department has well-trained drivers ensuring hassle-free and safe transportation. Students will be monitored by a Bus Monitoring Officer on each bus to maintain discipline in the bus. The starting points are Kollam, Chavara, Anchalumoodu, Chathanoor, Ayoor, Mavelikara, Adoor, Kottarakara, and Puthoor. 

Sports Facilities:

Sports play a pivotal role in shaping one's personality and maintaining good health. BMCE specially developed a sports environment that matches all standards and gives a truly competitive experience to all our students. There are multiple sports facilities to keep our students engaged and physically fit. The college has adequate sports and games, a gymnasium, a yoga center, etc., and cultural activities to promote the physical development of the students.

Hostel:

The college provides accommodation services for both boys and girls alike for a strength of 100 each. The boys' hostel is within the campus while the girls' hostel is just a stone's throw away from the campus. Facilities like an Information counter and photocopying services are provided.

Cafeteria:

The cafeteria is centrally located for the convenience of the students and staff. The administration of this cafeteria is given to experienced, proficient and committed contractors. The cafeteria is open on all working days. Besides, they provide students and staff with hygienic food, delicious snacks, tasty puddings, etc... at a very nominal price.

Softskill training:

Soft skill training is working on personal attributes, communication abilities, personality traits, etc. which are important socially and professionally. bmce focuses on developing leadership skills, communication skills, team management skills, and problem-solving skills.
