Bharath Niketan Engineering College (BNEC) is an ISO 9001:2015 Certified Engineering College, Affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, and is Approved by AICTE. It was established in the year 1998, by Nehru Rural Development Education Trust with an objective of imparting quality technical education for the rural community.

Facilities and Infrastructure

A library is the heart of an academic institution. Our institution encourages all students and staff members to make the best use of the library that has been carefully built up since the inception of the college as a cardinal support service of the institute. The prime objective of our library is to provide the right information to the users at the right time in the right manner through bibliographic sources and full-text sources in the form of print as well as digital in the disciplines of engineering, technology, management, general, etc. The central library is located in the institutional building occupying 635 sq.m., fully computerized with a reference section, magazine section, stack area, and digital library. Presently our library has a rich collection of 33023 volumes, 14235 titles in all branches of Engineering, Technology, Management, and General Studies, and the library subscribes to 106 specialized journals and a daily newspaper stacked for the benefit of staff and students. All the reading rooms in our library have been air-conditioned.

Sports activities are given utmost importance. Our students regularly participate in all sports competitions and bring laurels to the institution and themselves.

Intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong. The Department of Physical Education induces the spirit of sportsmanship in students and encourages them to participate in sports and games in order to learn Discipline, Leadership Quality, Teamwork and to lead a healthy life.

Bnec Campus has well-developed play fields for the following major outdoor games & sports provided: Football, Hockey, Cricket, Basketball, Volley Ball, Ball badminton, Kabaddi, Handball, and Throw a ball.

The hostel is an integral part of the college campus. There are separate hostels on the campus for men and women students.

Amenities like tables, chairs, cupboards, and fans are provided to individual students. Potable water, wholesome food, indoor and outdoor games, a hygienic environment, a reading room, and televisions are some of the other facilities available in the hostels.

A mess committee with the warden, Dy.warden, and student representatives functions to run the mess efficiently and economically.

A full-fledged transport department functions in the college with buses to provide transport facilities to students and staff from various places. The service is offered to ensure hassle-free and safe transportation.

The college runs, 22 buses for providing transport facilities for students from various places Madurai, Thirumangalam, Peraiyur, Theni, Periyakulam, Bathalagundu, Rasingapuram (BODI), Thevaram, V.C.Puram and Cumbum.

Placements

To assist students with Industrial Training at the end of the Semester. To arrange Inplant Training, Industrial Visits projects, Guest Lectures, and other Industry institute interaction activities.
