Bharathidasan School of Management [BSM], launched by Bharathidasan University in the academic year 2016, is located in the Palkalaiperur Campus [main campus] of the University on the Tiruchirappalli-Pudukkottai highway (NH 210). The majority of the Schools and Departments of Teaching and Research as well as specialized Research Centres are located on this Campus. Bharathidasan School of Management is established with the key objective of promoting a school of excellence in Business Management.

Facilities and Infrastructure at Bharathidasan School of Management :

Library:

The Library is separately located in a multi-storeyed building in the main campus and is well furnished with all resources including e-library resources. The number of books, journals and periodicals is updated every year. The library is providing reprographic facilities for the benefit of students and research scholars. The library is kept open throughout the year [except on five national holidays] from 8 am to 8 pm.

Hostels and Accommodation:

The majority of the students studying different programmes in the University Departments are hailing from places away from Tiruchirappalli, the University provides hostel facilities for needy students at an affordable cost. At present, there are nine hostels in the University. Among them, four hostels are meant for Men and the remaining five hostels are for Women. While the Sindhu and Gangai Hostels are located at the Khajamalai Campus, all the other hostels are on the Palkalaiperur main campus. Totally, there are 1860 students staying in the hostels.

Health and Wellbeing:

The BSM Health Centre was established in the year 1993. The Health Centre is located in a building with a 300 sq. ft. area, which is very close to the Administrative Building, Hostels and Staff Quarters. The Health Centre has physical facilities such as a bathroom, toilet, washbasins, fans, lights, drinking water, etc. The health centre has First-aid medicine, IRR Lamp, Electrocardiogram and other basic equipment. The working hours of the Health Centre are from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The Centre has links with all the major hospitals in the city.

Sports and Fitness:

BSM has an excellent infrastructure for sports and games. The sports infrastructure includes a good gymnasium with multi-gym facilities and a yoga centre, and an indoor stadium for table tennis, chess, carom, weight lifting and powerlifting. The university trains students in the following outdoor games: 

Faculty:

Eminent Scholars, corporate professionals and Distinguished Visiting faculty will form the core of teaching and Practical sessions. Besides, innovative teaching through domain and industry experts is adopted to attain high benchmarks in management techniques.

Transportation Facilities:

Transportation facilities for students, teachers and non-teaching staff are provided adequately. The University buses ply regularly between the city and the Palkalaiperur Campus in the morning and in the evening.

Computing Resources:

The Informatics Centre has a central computing laboratory catering to the academic, research and general-purpose computing needs of the students, faculty, and staff of our University. The Laboratory is also utilized by students from constituent colleges, and affiliated colleges. The laboratory is also used for giving hands-on training programmes and webinars to participants in Refresher courses, Orientation courses, Short term courses, Workshops etc. The computing laboratory has 110 Computers connected to a central Server. The lab functions from 8 AM to 8 PM on all days except National Holidays. The Laboratory is equipped with Necessary Software Tools, IP Surveillance Cameras, Audio System and a Smart Board to teach and demonstrate.

Campus WiFi:

BDU WiFi allows faculty, staff, students, and authenticated guests/visitors to access the network. The Wireless Internet (WiFi) facility has been provided to all the buildings located at both campuses. A Wireless Controller has been installed to provide maximum WiFi coverage, authentication and security. With 75 access points, around 1500 authenticated Wifi users are connected to BDU wireless network

Career Guidance and Placement Cell:

The Bharathidasan University has an Employment / Placement and Career Guidance Cell which was started a few years ago. Since most of the Schools and Departments in the university motivate their students towards research, a majority of the students who complete their Post-Graduate studies take up a research career after their programme of study. To facilitate this, the students obtain proper guidance during the final year of their study from their respective project supervisors. Students, who are interested in pursuing higher studies other than research, are guided by the faculty members in the Department.
