The college was established in the year 2001. The campus is located at a distance of 10 km from the central bus stand, 2 km from the airport, and 9 km from the Railway station. The campus occupies 10 acres of land with a beautiful landscape and all other amenities. Since the institute is located on the outskirts of Kolhapur city, it is completely pollution free and therefore provides a good teaching-learning environment. The institute runs four branches viz. Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. The college is designed and constructed by renowned Architects and Civil Engineers such that it takes care of all the environmental artifacts like water harvesting, aerodynamic building structures, solar heaters, etc, according to the standards and norms set by the All India Council for Technical Education. The workshop facility is constructed away from the classrooms so that the teaching process doesn’t get disturbed. An entire building is erected consisting of only classrooms and also dedicated buildings are provided for every branch. There is a state-of-the-art, acoustically designed central auditorium which is used for various events like seminars, workshops, conferences, cultural programs, etc. The college also has the following departments/committees which work consistently for the development of students.

The college has a boys' hostel and has signed an MOU with local hostels for girls. There is a canteen facility on the college premises which provides healthy food at attractive rates. The college provides scholarships to needy and bright students. Every department takes optimum care of the overall development of the student. There is a web-based feedback system developed in-house for the assessment of staff members by the students. The departments have student associations that carry out different activities for the department. They maintain an event registration for the same.

Facilities and Infrastructure

Limited facilities are available for boarding and lodging at the Guest House on the college campus. The accommodation has to be booked by prior request addressed to the Principal of the college. A hostel facility for Boys and Girls is also available separately. A Veershaiv bank is located near the college premises for banking convenience. The college canteen also provides a mess facility for the students who stay as paying guests outside the hostels. There are many small shops related to stationary, fast food, bakery, etc nearby so that the students can avail their needs. A city bus is available every 20 minutes from the college if the students need to visit the city. A resident doctor and his assistants are appointed for first aid purposes in case of any accidents that take place on the college premises.

Residential Accommodations:

We have a Boys' and Lady's Hostel facility with a sufficient number of rooms to accommodate the students. The hostels are specially designed with two primary objectives of safety and comfort. It has round-the-clock security. The hostels have washrooms (toilet and bathing cells). Cleanliness is maintained by the staff on duty. Each hostel room provides an amiable atmosphere and pollution-free environment, conducive to the mental, physical, and spiritual development of the students.

Library:

Well-equipped, state-of-the-art library, housed in 1116.40 Sq.mtrs. is a unique feature of Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering Kolhapur. The Management of the College lays special emphasis on developing a ‘Reading Culture’ amongst students, in view of which library is stocked with 24331 Books, 5019 Book Titles and 1741 Reference Books, and 541 e-Books to meet the demand from students and faculty. ‘Addition’ is a continuous process of recommendations from faculty and due approval from the Principal: Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Management generously sanctions the budget to meet the entire demand of the library. A number of useful Periodicals, National and International Journals are always added to the library, presently 193 ASPP(IEEE) E-Journals, 42 National Journals, and 11 Periodicals are subscribed and newspapers are also made available for all. We have NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) 8455 IIT Video Lecture Series.

Auditorium:

The acoustically designed auditorium has a capacity of 250 persons to sit. The main objective of this central auditorium is to hold events like seminars, symposia, conferences, etc. with a large number of participants. It is equipped with modern electronic equipment to provide two-way communication between the audience and lecturer during question hours, discussions, symposiums, conferences, etc. through mikes mounted on the chairs. Further OHP, audio playback equipment, etc. are also available as per requirement.

Gymnasium

The college has a "state-of-the-art" Gymnasium for students on our Campus.

Cafe/Mess Facility:

The college has a centralized cafeteria with a built-up area of 200 sq. m. The cafeteria management is instructed to use the best ingredients to prepare the menu items. A mess facility is also run by the cafeteria manager for the resident students. A seating capacity of 80 students and 20 staff members is provided. A committee has been formed by the college to look after the proper functioning of the cafeteria, which gives surprise visits anytime to monitor the activities.

Admission

Admission to the college is done on the basis of the entrance exam. Students are required to obtain a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying exam to become eligible for admission at BVCOE.
