Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) Medical College, Pune when established in February 1989 was affiliated to Pune University. In April 1996, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune was granted Deemed status for its academic excellence and the medical college became a constituent unit of the deemed university.

In April 1996, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune was awarded the recognized status of Academic Excellence, and the Medical College became a part of the deemed university. The Medical College and its affiliated NABH-accredited multi-specialty, tertiary hospital and research center with modern architectural features are part of the picturesque campus of the Bharati Vidyapeeth Education Center in Dhankawadi, Pune. We are known for our academic and clinical excellence, talented faculty, and state-of-the-art infrastructure.

The medical college has a beautiful green campus and very good infrastructure which is a great manifestation of modern architecture. Apart from the college and hospital building, we have a canteen, separate UG and PG and intern hostels, an animal house, a gymnasium, a playground, staff accommodation, and RHTC, and UHTC campus. The total building area of ?? the college is 23690.27 square meters. and the area of ?? the hospital is 33445.09 square meters. Rural Health Education Center, Lavale built 2482.20 square meters. and Urban Health Training Center at Sadashiv Peth is 232.25 sq.m.
Hostel
There are separate boys' and girls' hostels for students, as well as separate hostel spaces for residents and interns. Two new hostels (UG boys and girls) have been built with all the modern amenities keeping in mind the current needs of the students. Well-equipped common rooms were arranged for all the doctors. All the hostels are well equipped with leisure facilities like TV, internet, indoor games, etc. The Rural Health Education Center of Lavale with an area of ?? 2482.20 square meters offers comprehensive health services to almost 65,000 residents in 10 villages. The center is fully equipped with diagnostic and treatment equipment, as well as accommodation for staff and trainees. The RHTC serves as a demonstration site for rural training for undergraduate students and trainees.
Central Library:
contains 18127 books, 176 periodicals (National: 88, International: 88), 5300 references, 3100 titles, and 3771 bound volumes. The 24-hour reading room can accommodate 300 students.
Digital Library:
44 terminals provide access to online books and journals. We are connected to three online databases (National Knowledge Network, MUHS, and DELNET). Many electronic journals are available through these portals (2074 - MUHS, 1900 - DELNET). Own software (E-PASS) is also available.
Smart classrooms:
The 03 main lecture halls of the university, each with 180 seats, are equipped with air-conditioned smart classrooms and virtual classrooms. These include interactive projectors/whiteboards, Wi-Fi connectivity, two-way audio-video conferencing capabilities, a lecture capture system, mobile biometric attendance, etc. We also have 02 air-conditioned conference halls and 02 auditoriums with 450 and 550 seats respectively.
