Bhavan’s Vivekananda College of Science, Humanities and Commerce was founded on August 2, 1993 under the auspices of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavana with 131 students. Since its inception, the University has strongly promoted Bhavan's ideals, providing education coupled with a solid foundation of core life values. The university offers undergraduate programs in physics, life sciences, commerce, mass communications, and business administration, and five postgraduate programs, each withmajors (computer science, microbiology, biochemistry, business administration, and commerce). Currently 2 doctoral programs are offered in microbiology and biochemistry. The course program is geared to the growing needs of industry and society. The university also strives to raise the intellectual and moral standards of its students.The college was accredited with an “A” grade by the NAAC in 2012 and received autonomy from the UGC in 2015.
