The Bhopal School of Social Sciences was founded in the year 1972 at the initiative of Most Rev Dr. Eugene D' Souza, the then Archbishop of Bhopal-in response to the need of the time for a broad-based, job-oriented curriculum with an initial focus on social service and entrepreneurship. The institution is supported and managed by the Archdiocese of Bhopal through the BSSS Foundation Society chaired by the Archbishop of Bhopal.

The institution is supported and administered by the Archdiocese of Bhopal through the BSSS Foundation Society chaired by the Archbishop of Bhopal. Since its inception, the College has taken an integrated and holistic approach to learn to achieve academic excellence. This vision has been the cornerstone of our evolution over the past 50 years as we have progressively introduced new programs, initiated innovative learning strategies, and taken bold steps to go beyond the prescribed curriculum and transform positive action knowledge.
The Institute Bhopal School of Social Sciences is affiliated with Barkatullah University Bhopal and accredited by NAAC with an A+ (3.28 CGPA). All India Council for Technical Education approved. Recognized by the UGC.
The College offers a variety of programs in a wide range of subjects, including undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Physics, Mathematics, Economics and Management, Computer Science, Physical Therapy, Emergency Services, and Academic Library. Undergraduate courses (BA General, B.Sc General, B.Com, BBA, BCA, BSW and postgraduate courses (M.Com, MSc Chemistry, MA English, MSW), etc.
In order to meet the academic and extracurricular needs of students, the college has extensive facilities, including large and well-equipped classrooms, a staff room, a library, a lecture hall, a seminary, a language laboratory, classrooms, an examination, etc. The institute intends to promote new ideas in the introduce education. The Institute conducts a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Library:
A library is a sacred place of learning. Students are asked to respect the sacredness and solemnity of the library environment and to observe strict silence. The library has 38,871 volumes of books on all subjects of the college as well as general and information books, competitions, and an extensive range of fiction and non-fiction books. In addition, the library has 3,557 textbooks for use in the library itself.
