Birsa Agriculture University (Au) is a public university founded in the year 1980. The MHRD authorized the university to operate as an institution of higher learning. The campus of the university is at Ranchi, Jharkhand. It is the University Grants Commission recognized the Birsa Agriculture University. The university is comprised of twelve colleges that are part of its administration.

Agriculture Universities first began in 1945. Then in 1980, realizing the importance of studying agriculture, Birsa Agriculture University was established in existence. The university was inaugurated by the Prime Minister late Smt. Indira Gandhi. The goal is to encourage excellence and quality education for the future generation.
