Bombay Teachers’ Training College, a premier college of education, is located in South Mumbai. The college was established in April 1969 as a grant-in-aid, linguistic (Sindhi) minority institution by the Hyderabad (Sindh) National Collegiate Board.

It is an English medium, co-educational institute and is a constituent college of the HSNC University, Mumbai. The college offers teacher preparation programmes for various levels ranging from the Early Childhood Education Programme, the Diploma in Elementary Education and the Bachelor of Education Programmes. It is also a centre for Doctor of Philosophy (Education).

The Bombay Teachers’ Training College Library supports education and research at BTTC through its collection of printed and electronic information. We are subscribing to the N-List database from INFLIBNET where students can access E-books and e-journals from anywhere, at any time. Our reading room–cum–the library provides facilities for individual study. We also have a considerable collection of academic resources in various formats such as print, audio and video CDs. The Library subscribes to journals from reputed publishers in the field of education such as NCERT, NCTE, IGNOU, NUEPA etc.

The college has smart classrooms and LCD along with a personal computer installed in each classroom for use by the staff and students. The college also has Overhead Projectors, Audio Equipment, a VCD Player and LCD televisions, and other equipment which are often used in the teaching-learning process.

The college has a collection of Psychology Laboratory Materials which has several psychological tests and the required equipment for conducting educational psychology experiments.

BTTC annual sports day is the most popular event among student teachers. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm amidst fun and frolic. The sports events are organized by the student council for the student teachers. The role of the faculty is to orient and guide the student teachers to conduct the sports events.

Both indoor and outdoor sports are organized every academic year. The institution provides all the necessary facilities to support the student teachers’ initiatives. The Men championship and Women's championship trophies are awarded along with medals and certificates to all other winners.

Placement

The Bombay Teachers’ Training College prepares student teachers for all levels of education from early childhood to higher secondary, across the various school boards. Many of the alumni of the college are highly placed in reputed international schools across the city of Mumbai and its borders.
