The BPHE (Bhaskar Pandurang Hivale Education) Society’s Ahmednagar College was established in 1947 as the first college for higher education in the Ahmednagar district. The college has been accredited with a 'B++' grade by NAAC and has received the ‘Educational Excellence Award' by Brands Academy and 'Best College’ from The University of Pune.

It provides various courses at UG, PG, and research levels like BA, B.Sc, MA, M.Sc, etc. It also provides additional Certificate courses in Molecular Experimental Techniques and in BPO skills with other upgraded certificate courses. The admissions are offered on the basis of merit.

Ahmednagar College has a well-developed library managed by qualified professionals. The resources of the Central Library are housed in a spacious three-story building. The total collection is 2,16,900 constituting books, journals, and periodicals and new resources are regularly added with U.G.C. and Government grants. It holds special collections, viz. Dr. Hivale's Collection, Jambhekar and Raosaheb Patwardhan Collection, An special possession of the library is the collection of rare volumes of the Dnyanodaya periodicals of the early 1800s reflecting the socio-economic and religious conditions in Maharashtra. This was the only journal of its kind at that time. Library holding rare manuscripts (17th Shake) Along with this there is a variety of traditional collections housed in the Museum and international and national scholars are using these resources at the library. Library automation work in progress with the help of SOUL 2.0 software. The college library is also a member of the N List program.

The College has a hostel facility for boys and girls students. Students from Maharashtra and from other states take admitted to the hostel. Students admitted to the junior college are from villages, talukas, and urban areas of Ahmednagar district. Students admitted from different corners of Ahmednagar. Also, students from the northeastern regions take admitted to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Their proficiency level depends on the course they wish to join.

There are 4 canteen on the College premises Canteens provide meals. Most of the items are at affordable prices. The Canteen Committee in consultation with the principal will decide any change in prices.

Placement

Training and Placement Cell aims at undertaking several activities that assist our students find placement with the best of employers. These will include: To groom and train the final year students for placements so that their chances of selection increase To preparing Placement Brochure for final placement To organize pre-placement visits (PPV) to the companies To communicate, network, and build relationships with potential recruiters To organize on-campus off-campus interviews for final year students and internship (training) for students with industries and reputed institutes To prepare students to face interviews by arranging training in aptitude tests, group discussions, preparing for Technical and HR interviews through professional trainers To promote career counseling by organizing lectures by experts in the field Maintaining regular interaction with industry through Seminars, Guest Lectures, and Conferences, etc. Maintaining and updating the database of students Providing requisite training to students in the area of Personality Development and Communication Skills To facilitate the interview process by assisting employers to achieve their hiring goals Training and Placement Cell The placement activities will be managed by the Training and Placement Cell of the College.

Admission

Admissions to any of the courses are done on a merit basis provided the candidates fulfill the eligibility criteria.
