The Institute of Engineering and Technology is a self-funded engineering college operated by the University of Calicut. The institute was established in 2001 to promote engineering and technology education and research and prepare young men and women to become high-quality technical personnel, useful to society, with solid engineering knowledge, good management, and high moral values. Tenhipalam Main Campus, Malappuram District covers 200 hectares. There are various departments, a well-stocked library, an audiovisual and reprographic center, a science and photo center, a health center, a boarding house, a seminar complex, staff quartets and student dormitories, a dormitory for working women, etc. There are also large playgrounds and a gym on campus. The campus also includes two green grass soccer fields, an artificial athletics track, a gymnasium, a sports arena, Kho-Kho/volleyball/basketball courts, etc. to promote sports activities.

Infrastructure and Facilities:

Institute of Engineering and Technology has a large and well-maintained campus and offers a tranquil learning environment. The buildings are modern and equipped with the latest technology from the Institute of Engineering and Technology, which facilitates teaching and teacher development. The classrooms, units, and laboratories of the Institute of Engineering and Technology are spacious, comfortable, and designed to ensure the highest quality of education. The library is excellent too, with a huge range of books, online resources, and knowledgeable librarians.

Library:

The library has a digital library with effective e-learning materials, an electronic database, electronic journals, e-books, etc. It is accessible from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the library. The library is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. except on Sundays and public holidays. 

Transportation: 

Institute offers bus transportation to make traveling around campus easier. There are two buses and two other institute vehicles. These buses run back and forth every weekday morning and evening. About 95% of students, mostly day students, rely on university buses for daily transportation. The bus covers the whole of Calicut city, also extending its transport to neighboring cities like Ramanattukara, Feroke, etc. 

Canteen: 

The campus has a food joint, frequented more perhaps by hostelites looking for a change from hostel grub than the occasional visitor. The Campus Cafe is open from 8.00 a.m. to 20:00 every day of the week, including Saturday and Sunday. A wide range of South and North Indian dishes are available. Lunchtime meals are available at very modest prices. 

Sports: 

The college has sports fields and a well-equipped gymnasium. The university's Faculty of Physical Education offers graduate and PG programs in physical education. In addition, the institute has designated areas for separate playgrounds within the institute premises. You will start work soon.

Medical care is provided to students by the college at its on-campus health center. Qualified doctors, nurses, and paramedics attend to the health needs of campus residents. The Institute offers a limited number of beds for both men and women. A room will be allocated to the students of the institute according to the places available and the guidelines decided from time to time by the administration. The Placement Unit (CGPC) is the placement center of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
