Canara Engineering College (CEC), established in the year 2001 as a new millennium project of Canara High School Association, in the sprawling campus of 26 acres of pristine natural beauty at Benjanapadavu, Mangalore has now grown as a promising engineering institution with distinction in the coastal region of Karnataka, India, where values and technology converge! The lofty dream of our founder, Late Sri Ammembal Subba Rao Pai, of providing quality education to the needy student community at affordable costs, is being realized today at CEC, through well-qualified and motivated faculty, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and distinguished learning-centric facilities.

The spacious building's homely environment providing all the basic facilities like a water cooler and purifier, telephone and television, reading room, and on-site medical health care makes students stay pleasant during their years at the college.

The Central Library of CEC is located in the heart of the institution and it is easily accessible to its clientele. The library has got an independent building with a carpet area of 1305.68.mtrs spread over 2 Floors it can accommodate 300 users at a time. The collection of the library is more than 47000 including general Book bank books and SC/ST Book Bank which include Text and Reference books, Competitive Examination books, and general knowledge books available for the all-round development of personality.

Providing all indoor and outdoor facilities for games and physical activities, the college motivates every student to take part in a single or every other interest and keeps a normal report of sports activities and clubs.

Two canteens located within campus serve vegetarian and also non-vegetarian food in Indian and Chinese styles and tastes, in a clean neat, and hygienic environment. Canteens are spacious and have better arrangements of serving tables.

Scholarships

The cleaning and hygiene suppliers associations (CHSA)scheme is for the children of employees of CHSA. The judging criteria for the scheme are based on the need, endeavor, and overall personality. Winning applicants are helped with Rs 1500 per annum for 3 years. CEC, under this scheme, has given scholarships to 216 students.

Placements

This department conducts a program called Employability Skill Enhancement training which enhances the various skills of students. Along with that, they organize many workshops and seminars to enrich the capabilities of students.
