Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology, popularly known as CIPET, in Ahmedabad is one of the most progressive and developing institutes of Plastic Engineering and Technology opened in India in the year 1984 by the Government of India. The institute is affiliated with GTU and is AICTE approved. It currently offers UG, PG, and Diploma courses majorly in the science field. Admissions are majorly provided on the candidate’s performance in entrance exams conducted by the university or institute itself.
With a view of catering for the need of plastic industries belonging to the Western parts of the country, CIPET Centre was established in Ahmedabad in the year 1984. Located at "Vatva GIDC Industrial Area", the campus is spread over 9 acres and is surrounded by a serene environment that helps in making a suitable ambience for academics. CIPET: IPT - Ahmedabad Centre is ISO 9001:2015 certified for Training and Technical Services. Our Plastics Testing Centre is accredited by NABL for ISO 17025:2005 QMS and recognized by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Further, the Centre is accredited with ISO/IEC: 17020 (General Criteria for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection) Type - Inspection body in the field of plastics. Pre & Post Delivery Inspection Services are offered to our elite customers.
Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology, is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University
Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology, courses are offered at various levels like Undergraduate Degrees (i.e Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) Plastic Engineering etc) Postgraduate Degrees (i.e Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in CAD/CAM, Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Polymer Science and Technology, etc)and many more. Classroom:
All classrooms are architecturally designed with optimal natural lighting and airflow and equipped with LCD projectors, laptops, whiteboards, etc. the best way. All classrooms are silent. Students are encouraged to attend expert lectures anywhere in the world via video conferencing.
Laboratories:
All laboratories of the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology are well-equipped with advanced machinery and equipment, allowing professors to educate students on the latest trends and technologies, and also providing an excellent opportunity for hands-on training in the latest machinery industry.
Canteen:
The Center has a central canteen with sufficient seating to cater to the dietary needs of students and to offer a range of delicious, nutritious meals/snacks/tea/coffee.
Hostels:
Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology has an exclusive home for boys and girls: CIPET The independent hostel offers many services such as an internet room, reading room, indoor games, gym, and dining room, as well as an uninterrupted supply of still water and purified drinking water. There is also a doctor attached to the hostel who provides emergency medical assistance.

The Design and CAD/CAM departments of CIPET are facilitated with the latest systems and software for imparting effective training to the students on product and moulding design. The department also provides the following services to the plastic & allied industries:

Processing Laboratory
The Plastics processing department of the centre is well equipped with both conventional processing machines as well as modern microprocessor-controlled processing machines and provides a broad range of skill training to students. In addition following customer services are also provided by the processing department:
Moulding of Plastics products and proving of moulds.
Tailor-made/modular training programs on specific topics as per the requirement of the Plastics industry.
Organize Awareness / Orientation & Entrepreneurship Development Programs (EDP) on "Plastics Processing Techniques".
Consultancy & advisory services to the Plastics industries on "Troubleshooting of processing defects" and "Improvement in Productivity".
Consultancy services to new entrepreneurs on "Setting up of a Plastics processing industry".
Tool Room
?? The Tool Room at the centre is well equipped with both Imported CNC machinery as well as conventional machines and imparts practical training to students on the manufacturing of moulds standard mould bases.
