The Central Polytechnic College, Thiruvananthapuram was founded in 1958 and began operating in a building on the School of Arts campus. Initially, bachelor's degree courses in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering were offered. After constructing its own building in 1967, the college moved to Vattiyoorkavu on the outskirts of the city. Located in a place of great historical importance - a place that made a great contribution to the nation's cause during our struggle for freedom - the college has so far successfully contributed to the nation-building process.  Within a short period of time, the college has grown into one of the most sought-after technical educational institutions in Kerala. The 25.4-acre campus offers many services to staff and the student community. In order to better meet the needs of the industry, further courses such as electrical engineering, textile technology, and technical computer science were later introduced.  The College currently offers undergraduate programs in six majors: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Textile Engineering, and Computer Engineering.  Each year more than 360 students from all walks of life apply to the college. As a center of great academic brilliance, most major companies visit our university every year in search of talented engineers. The growing proportion of places for our students is a sign of our appreciation for the humble service we offer.

Placement Cell: 

Career and Work Guidance Unit (CGPU), which coordinates learning and training activities. It is a voluntary organization run by faculty members and student representatives.
