The college was founded in  1950 and its vision was to promote national development by providing quality education. It was established with a grant of one lakh rupees from Chaudhary Babu Mahadeo Prasad Trust and  Ch. Mahadeo Prasad. 

The college is run by Kayastha Pathshala, which is the largest trust society in Asia. The university started a B.Sc. course in 1950 AD in the House Intermediate College. The university was shifted to its present location at Mahatma Gandhi Marg, George Town, Allahabad in 1953 in the building of the Agra Jamindar Association. In 1955, the humanities faculty was started at the university. First Prime Minister Pt. In 1957, Jawaharlal Nehru opened a university hostel known as Sampoornand Hostel. The Faculty of Law started in 1972 and moved to a new campus in Kamla Nehru Marg in 1990. The Faculty of Commerce was established in 1976. Kamla Nehru Road also has a separate wing for girls.

A library 

Welcome to the library system of Chaudhary Mahadeo Prasad Degree College,  P. G. Allahabad College (Central University). The library system consists of a main library, Law Wing Library, and several departmental libraries. The main library is the center of library services for the faculties, researchers, and students of the university. The library was established in the early days of the college to serve the needs of the faculty and students of the college at that time. Currently, the main library is housed in the "Agra Jamindar Association" building, which is one of the oldest buildings in the city of Prayagraj and is known for its monumental appearance. The library system serves more than 9500  UG, PG, and research level students and more than 200 faculty and staff.
