Christ College (Jagdalpur) was established in 2001 by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) with the aim of combining sacred and secular education. It is a self-financing religious minority college affiliated to Bastar Vishwavidyalaya, Jagdalpur. CMI is India's first indigenous religious congregation  with over 2,000 members. It serves humanity in education, social, health and other fields aimed at holistic development. Since the early  1970s, CMI has been committed to uplifting the lives of the people of the Bastar region. The planned and efficient leadership and foresight of the pioneers of this mission led to the establishment of Christ College at Jagdalpur.

Infrastructure 

An NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education, Delhi) recognized college, affiliated to Bastar University, Jagdalpur, is located in the sprawling Christ Campus, Jagdalpur, on Geedam Road,  4 km from Jagdalpur Railway Station. Located slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets, the institute offers a healthy, open and refreshing physical environment and  atmosphere suitable for research, training and learning. Laboratories 

The premises have well-equipped laboratories for physics, chemistry, botany, computer, mathematics, social studies, language and psychology. These laboratories promote a deeper understanding of the theoretical knowledge already acquired in the classrooms and the application of learning methods by providing opportunities to carry out prescribed experiments.  

Internet 

The computer lab is designed to provide expert service and high quality  information technology training. The existing Internet service gives  students access to various academic resources available online. Individual attention and care are offered during the exercises and trainings by experts in the field. 

Conference hall

The college has a spacious conference hall (100 seats) with audio-visual equipment. With 20 seats, each equipped with microphones and headphones, the language laboratory has all the features of a  modern language laboratory. During transmission, each student can intervene in the teacher's activity without disturbing the lesson by pressing a button on the table. Overhead  projector, slide projector, TV with DTH connection, VCR, DVD, web camera, video camera, tape recorder, amplifier, radio, home theater etc., the college provides LCD projector. So every B. The Ed student must prepare at least 5 Power Point presentations in the classroom and present it in front of the student teacher. The computer library has a good collection of CDs related to teaching and learning. 

Guest house 

SH The Bhawan, run by nurses, provides girls with a safe and peaceful residence. The Sangam, located near the new bus stand of CMI Fathers, provides a safe and peaceful accommodation for the boys.
