Christ College was founded in 1956 by the Devamatha Province of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), an indigenous religious congregation founded by St Cyriaque Elie in 1831.  Religious priest and multifaceted genius who envisioned education as a tool of liberation and development. This college was established under the provisions of the Constitution of India, Part III, Article 30(1) and governed by the Christ College Educational Society (Regd. No. 137/75).  It is a minority institution affiliated with Calicut University and -accredited by NAAC with the highest "A" rating. Christ College is dedicated to Jesus Christ and has the motto "Jeevitha Prabha" which means "Light of Life". On the recommendation of the state government, the college was granted “self-governing status” by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2015, the college's Diamond Jubilee year.  Christ College is part of the centuries-old tradition of CMI education, which is Christian, particularly Catholic, at its core. It offers an ideal educational vision that knows and responds to the challenges of the nation's current situation.

Christ College offers Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), Bachelor of Arts General (BA Gen.), and Bachelor Of Commerce (B.Com.) Finance, Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) General, Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.), Bachelor of Library Science (BLibSc), and Postgraduate Programs Master of Commerce (M.Com), Master of Science (M.Sc.) Library: 

A Christ College library is a place for the dissemination of knowledge and information. The Christ College Library is located in the center of the college in a two-story building. The ground floor, a 300-seat common room, offers plenty of space for reading and general reference. It occupies the librarian's booth, the reference area, the audio library, and the digital library area for UG students. The shelves on the ground floor are arranged thematically and separated by different areas. A separate area is dedicated to students and researchers at the GUT. An audiovisual library with a conference room is also located on the first floor. 

Cafeteria: 

Christ College has a spacious, fully furnished, and well-ventilated cafeteria with separate seating for staff and students. Hygienic and homemade dishes are available at reasonable prices. It is a popular meeting place for students to discuss academic and other matters over tea, snacks, or lunch. Grocery packages are also available. In addition to the main cafeteria, there is a small cafeteria that provides students with light snacks. 

Christ College Auditorium: 

Christ College has a full cultural unit for students who are genuinely interested in the performing arts. The students prepare for the competition and train during the competition in the university classroom equipped with a good sound system consisting of a Behringer amplifier (500W) with 6 speakers (100W {2 pcs} and 200W { 4 pieces} pieces}) consists.  A 5000W speaker is also available for special occasions or celebrations.
