The Cancer Institute (WIA) was recognized as early as 1965 by the University of Madras for the Ph.D. and D.Sc degrees in the areas of Clinical Research, Biochemical Oncology, and Nuclear Medical Oncology.
The Cancer Institute (WIA), as you know, is a voluntary public charitable institution dedicated to the treatment of cancer for 60 years. The Institute is a comprehensive cancer center comprising a 535-bed hospital, a research division, a college of oncology sciences, and a division of preventive oncology and offers state-of-the-art treatment to all.

Residential Accommodation
The institute has excellent hostel facilities and campus infrastructure that makes students feel comfortable and at home. There are men's hostels that can accommodate up to 1500 students. It has a safe women's hostel that can accommodate up to 500 female students. Four well-constructed, state-of-the-art buildings with elevators form the new hostel block. Both the men's and women's hostels have their own cafeteria, where students can choose between vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals.
A separate room and rate are available for international students. A mosque testifies that peace of mind is contained in the remembrance of God. Hostels also have a separate gym for male and female students. Hostels that maintain international standards of cuisine and comfort, with a care and sharing environment, have been proposed, with separate buildings for male and female students. Internet & Wi-Fi facility is available for men and amplifiers; Women's Inn.
Library
The Central Library has huge collections of books and journals in the fields of science, engineering, technology, pharmacy, law, management, and humanities. The Library is open from 4 p.m. (8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.). on Saturdays and Sundays, the library is also open. The library is well connected with school/departmental libraries, functioning in all schools and departments. The Institute's digital library is active 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The library has an agreement with Nazionale.
Computer Lab
This institute has followed the policy of creating distributed computing facilities for each department with a number of server and client computers and specialized software required for the service, as well as general software. All departments and labs, including hostels, are connected by a campus-wide gigabyte fiber-optic network. The institute has a total number of 24 servers, 60 workstations, and 1500 desktop clients.
Medical Services and Health Center
A healthy body and a healthy mind are the pillars of academic and personal excellence. For the benefit of students, the institution has a 24/7 health center with an additional 8-bed hospital and an ambulance. Two resident doctors, a man, and a woman are assisted by qualified personnel to ensure the smooth running of operations. A medical specialist makes weekly visits to the hostel. The institute also has a connection with AG Hospital, Tambaram, for emergencies.
Canteen
The canteen of the Institute consists of four long and large rooms and is very well furnished. As well as being a place that provides delicious, healthy and nutritious meals for students and staff, it has always been a place for relaxation and friendly banter. In this favorite place for students, you can discover all the shades and colors of life. In addition to the usual menu, the canteen also has 2 kiosks selling fresh juices and milkshakes.
Transport
The establishment is well connected to public transport services. Beyond, there are buses for the college. Faculties are also picked up by cars and vans.
The primary function of the placement office is threefold, the first and foremost is creating awareness about the placement process through a series of awareness programs. The next task is to train them to face the next placement seasons through a series of training courses by industry experts. The last but the most important function is to streamline the placement process for the convenience of students and recruiters. An elaborate slotting criterion is used to slot the companies for the placement process.
