The University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore was established by the government of Karnataka in the year 1963 to serve the farming community in a bid to improve crops and crop production by adopting contemporary technology from across the globe in a bid to achieve self-sufficiency in food production and thereby food security.

Laboratories

A full-fledged University Hospital under the supervision of a whole time Chief Medical Officer in charge of a Surgeon, Two Contract Medical officers, and a Lady Medical Officer who renders round-the-clock service to the students and staff members and their families. On campus, there is a full-fledged office for the Training and Placement department. The department features a private boardroom and five-panel rooms with all of the necessary equipment to conduct campus hiring programs. Admission 

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Eligibility Criteria

A person, who has passed Higher Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) with science stream or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, shall be eligible for the course.

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Food Science Eligibility Criteria

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed the Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
