Thalassery, the cradle of colonial legacy is known for its scenic beauty and prominence in the educational field from ancient times itself. The College of Engineering Thalassery was established in the year 2000. The foundation stone was laid by Sri E.K Nayanar, the then Honorable Chief Minister of Kerala. The new building complex of the College was officially inaugurated by Sri. M.V Raghavan, the then Honorable Minister of Co-operation and Ports in the year 2004.

Facilities and Infrastructure

Central Computing Facility:

Central Computing Facility (CCF)is a centralized Computer Centre for the staff and students of this college. CCF is maintaining and manages the Campus networking and Internet Facility. CCF started in the year 2004 with a browsing facility. Now the CCF is equipped with around 100 Desktop systems, 100mbps NKN internet connectivity with a 30Mbps backup connection. Providing both wired and WiFi connectivity to students and staff.

Transportation:

At gift 8 buses, operated with the aid of using the university PTA for the ease of college students and staff. Three buses operate between Kannur and the college via Chala, Perallasseri, Mambaram, Kayalode, and Kadirur. One bus operates between Kuthuparamba and College thru Kadirur. Four buses operate between Thalassery and the college via chonadam.6 College buses are owned by PTA and 2 buses are on contract with PTA. The service of college buses is controlled by a committee that includes student members also. Any criticism concerning the bus operations may be pronounced to the bus committee. 

Canteen:

The college has a spacious canteen facility in the college. A variety of South Indian food and snack items are provided to the students and staff of the college with the highest quality. It also provides light refreshments like packed snack items, cakes, veg. puff, beverages, etc to the students and staff of the college.

CO-OPERATIVE STORE:

College of Engineering Thalassery is running a full-fledged store room for providing services to students and staff. Fair Records, Rough Records, Workbooks, Drawing Sheets, and Assignment books are available in the store room. Textbooks for some subjects are also available in the store room. Photostat facilities are provided for students and staff during college working time. Stationery items like paper pens are also available.

Sports:

The college provides various games and sports facilities within the college campus and outside the campus. The future of a nation is healthy only when its people are physically fit and strong. COET lays adequate stress on physical fitness and mental agility. Sports and games activities form an integral part of education here. Yoga and Meditation classes are conducted to inculcate self-discipline and self-control.

Admission

Admission is made as per the rank obtained by eligible candidates in the state-level Common Entrance Exam conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala State. 90% of the seats in the Colleges under CAPE will be allotted by the CEE as per the reservation policy of the Government. So also, 5% of seats reserved for the cooperative sector are also allotted by the CEE on a merit basis and 5% N.R.I seat filled by CAPE on the basis of rank.
