Columbia Institute of Pharmacy was set up in 2003 under the leadership of Mr. Kishore Jadwani as the Chairman, and Mr. Harjeet Singh Hura as the Secretary. There was a mission to be recognized as one of the best institutes, with a reputation for excellence in teaching, research, and public service. The chairman and secretary of the society are both graduates in Pharmacy from Sagar University, Madhya Pradesh. In 2004, the society initiated the Columbia College of Pharmacy to offer the Diploma in Pharmacy course in a building on lease in Raipur which was later, in 2005, moved to the current site. In 2006, the society started the Foundation of the Columbia Institute of Pharmacy to run the B. Pharmacy course. It is the hard work and vision of the society members that, within just six years, i.e., by 2010, the society came up with the Columbia Group of Institutions with a campus of about 25 acres of land and more than 4 Lakh sq. ft. of construction area, and the expansion and diversification are still in progress. At present, Columbia Group of Institutions conducts B.E., MBA, B.Ed., and B.Nursing courses apart from pharmacy. All the courses are affiliated with the Government. Universities and Professional bodies of India. Columbia Institute of Pharmacy offers courses such as B. Pharm., M. Pharm., and PhD. The institute seeks to bridge the ever-widening gap between modern pharmaceuticals and traditional drug systems. In this regard, Workshops, seminars & faculty development programmes are being organized by our Institute frequently. The Institute also carries out research work with the help of various state & central organizations in the form of grants such as CCOST, AICTE, DBT, DST, and ICMR.
