Crescent Institution of Nursing was founded in 2006 with the aim of promoting excellence in Healthcare and improving health awareness and education among the people living in and around Alathur. Crescent Institution of Nursing Alathur, Palakkad Kerala was established in the year 2006 as Private Educational Institute to provide higher education to build a career in the field of Paramedical. Crescent Institution of Nursing Alathur is approved by the reputed INC and KNC and is affiliated with the University of Calicut, Calicut. Considering the need of the locality to have a Nursing College that can keep up high standards in the Nursing profession, with its long and varied experience in establishing and administering Crescent Hospital and School of Nursing, Crescent Medical Centre Ltd. Decided to set up a Nursing College under its Management. With the available Infrastructure facilities, it is able to provide advanced knowledge and degree level with ample clinical experience to the Nursing Students.

Crescent Institution of Nursing Infrastructure and facilities:

Hostel: 

Crescent Institution of Nursing has a separate building for the girls’ hostel. The hostel has an intake of 200+ girl students. The hostel is located inside the campus of the college.

Library: 

The College has a huge library consisting of impressive 3000+ books. The books are meant for reference for the undergraduate and other courses of the college. The books obtained are in accordance with the syllabus of the University of Calicut.

Laboratories: 

The College has well-equipped, adequate clinical laboratories for the practical studies of the students. There are separate laboratories for teaching fundamentals of nursing, anatomy and physiology, nutrition and advanced learning, and maternity and child health.

Clinical practice:

The students of Crescent Institution of Nursing get to practice in the Crescent Hospital. The students get on-the-job training in other hospitals too such as Lakshmi Cardiac Care Centre, VRC Mental Hospital Tirur, and KG Hospital in Coimbatore. These hospitals are affiliated with the college for practical exposure of the students.

Faculty

Crescent Institution of Nursing has a total of 16 teachers. Four of them are Assistant Professors. Two teachers are Lecturers and the remaining ten are Assistant lecturers.

Crescent Institution of Nursing Admissions

Crescent Institution of Nursing invites UG and PG courses in Nursing. 50% of the seats in this course are filled through a Government Quota and the remaining 50% of seats are filled by the Management Quota. The seats of the Government Quota are filled through a centralized allotment process conducted by the LBS Centre for Science & Technology. The seats of the Management Quota are filled by candidates directly applying to the college.
