The object of legal education is to equip the law student with virtues and skill necessary for a good lawyer such as  Honesty, Courage, Industry, Wit, Eloquence, Judgement, and Fellowship. Thus the skills of Lawyers were used to help the poor and needy to prove their lawful and truthful claims before courts of Law. Due to globalization today the Scope of Legal Education became multi-faceted. Therefore, a lawyer today cannot stop his work within the Court Hall. He has to perform his role both in the municipal as well as international level. The growth of Science and technology widened the ambit of Legal education to new arenas such as Cyber Laws, Corporate Laws, Intellectual Property Rights etc.

The conventional understanding of society is that the  National Law Schools alone can cater to the Knowledge in the above-said areas. As an attempt to equip the rural students on par with the National Law School students the CSI South Kerala Diocese (CSI SKD) established CSI Institute of Legal Studies in 2013.CSI Institute of Legal Studies is Affiliated with the University of Kerala and Approved by Bar Council of India. The Primary object of the institution is to impart Quality research-oriented legal education so as to enable the students to expand the horizon of their legal knowledge and disseminate the same effectively.

Facilities

E-Library

In Our E-library, Sufficient numbers of systems are available with Internet access facilities to access the e-resources. Users can access for educational, research, and development purposes. Non-book materials such as CDs, and DVDs, along with textbook tutorial CDs, General Law Books, Reference Books, UGC, Compliment Books and Periodical CDs are also kept in the Library.

Hostel for Women

Hostel Building with well-secured Compound wall, securities, visitors room and other facilities situated in the College Compound. TV Room sick room and common room are provided in the Hostel. The hostel will have functioned under the control of the Hostel warden appointed by the college authorities. Girls students can access the Hostel facilities by paying Hostel fees decided by Hostel authorities.

Digital Class Room

College has two Digital Classrooms. This room has a computer, multimedia projector, interactive digital board, internet and LAN connectivity. The teachers can access the internet while class is going on and provide the latest information and references to the students.

National Service Scheme

Youth have a significant role in the development and prosperity of our country. In order to achieve this, we have to develop a sense of social commitment. Youth who actively participate in these activities can easily interact with others in society with their social skills and they also possess higher civil awareness and problem-solving skills. Our education system not only means acquiring knowledge it means imparting it in a useful manner to society. The National Service Scheme unit with 50 volunteers is functioning in this college with the approval of the University of Kerala and other various governmental departments. Even though it is a professional college along with studies and professional skills development we aim to develop a socially committed and responsible generation. In this world, we need humans with humanity. So we try to achieve this by conducting various social services programs like blood donations, environmental programs, and cultural events, etc.

Legal Aid Clinics

Knowledge of social realities is important for a practicing lawyer. So with a view to providing acquaintance with social and legal problems, CSILS Legal Aid Clinic in collaboration with KELSA and Taluk Legal Service Committee is rendering free legal aid. The activities include Lok Adalat, Legal Literacy and Legal education programs, etc. CSI ILS Legal Aid Clinic is volunteering student lawyers.
