The establishment of the Higher School of Professional Studies in Architecture was an important step by CTES, which was founded in 1978 and administers the Higher School of Arts, Sciences, and Commerce, as well as numerous other disciplines.
The design of CTESCOA was approved after much effort by the Architecture Council, Apex's national body that governs architecture education, on July 28, 2014, to accommodate 40 students. The GR of the Government of Maharashtra was received on September 3, 2014. The first merit list of 32 open and limited candidates was prepared for admission. Ganesh Puja was held on Teacher's Day, September 5, 2014, to announce the opening of CTESCOA. The new college was affiliated with the University of Mumbai on September 10, 2014.
