Dahiwadi College Dahiwadi was established in 1965 with the object of imparting higher education to students from the poorest and downtrodden strata of the remote area of Satara District. Initially, it started with an Arts stream with English, Marathi, History, and Hindi as special subjects at the B.A. degree level. In the year 1984, Commerce faculty imparting education in Accountancy was started. In due course of its development special subjects such as Economics, Geography, and Political Science were started in the college in June 1969, June 1973, and June 1985 respectively. Initially, the college started its functioning on the premises of its sister concern Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya, thereafter it was shifted to the new premises. Then it started a certificate course in IT of Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited (MS-CIT) and a course in Library Science of Continuing and Distance Education, Department of Shivaji University, Kolhapur on a self-finance basis.
