The Dalai Lama Institute of Higher Learning, Bengaluru Karnataka was established in 2009 as a private educational institution to provide higher education to build a career in humanities, computer applications, and commerce.  The Dalai Lama Institute of Higher Learning is affiliated with UOM, Mysore. Hostels: 

The Dalai Lama Institute of Higher Education believes that clean and comfortable accommodation contributes to academic success and healthy university life. The institute has developed standard dormitories for students during their studies at the institute. The hostels here offer the perfect home away from home. There are separate dwellings for men and women, overseen by a chief and matriarch respectively. Usually, four people live in one room, but for one year two elderly people live in one room if possible. The rooms are well furnished and spacious with water, electricity, and 24-hour internet access. 

Canteen: 

The Institute currently has a modest canteen managed under contract. It offers food, soft drinks, and tea. The site is also used by students as a recreation center with several indoor play structures. 

Sports and Games: 

The Institute attaches importance to both sports and education. Healthy living is an important lesson that the Institute aims to impart to students. Currently, the Student Council organizes all games and sporting events on campus as part of extracurricular activities. The institution has standard soccer and basketball fields and selects varsity teams for these events. Tournaments are also organized with other universities and institutes. The hostels have indoor games such as table tennis, chess, and billiards. Students are encouraged to participate in daily exercises and games to keep fit.
