DAV College, Bathinda Student Centre cum Food Court Taking steps towards inculcating healthy food habits among students and providing a refreshing ambiance, the old canteen has been dismantled and in its place, a new Student Centre cum Food Court has been constructed. This impressive building has become a favorite jaunt amongst the students. It has a spacious area with a seating capacity of around 150 students and an adjoining room for the staff and the faculty. The whole ambiance of the Food Court is so soothing and stimulating that it creates a new surge of energy amongst all and caters to the hearty appetite of students, thus offering them sumptuous and healthy food.

Historical Background of DAV College, Bathinda Library With the laying down of the foundation stone of this college in 1969, the College Library came into existence. Late Sh. D.P. Banal was the first Librarian of this Library. He did his best to make this Library the best information pool. During the regime of Principal Sh. P.L. Trakru, the Library was shifted to the present building in 1996, with a separate stack room and a well-furnished reading room with more than 150 chairs.

It is centrally located and the Civil Hospital is just at a distance of 2 km and other good hospitals too are in the vicinity of the college. The college also has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Global Hospital, Bathinda for the healthcare and ambulance services during college hours.

National Cadet Corps (NCC)

DAV College, Bathinda National Cadet Corps (India) constituted under the NCC Act of 1948, has its headquarters in New Delhi. The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization recruiting cadets from high schools, colleges, and universities all over India. The cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades.

DAV College, Bathinda origin of the NCC can be traced back to the First World War when the Britishers created the University Corps as the second line of defense to have a large pool of trained youth available for employment in the Armed Forces. After independence on 16 April 1948, the NCC came under the Ministry of Defense, Government of India. The Girls Division of the NCC was started in July 1949 and in April 1950 Air Wing was added. Afterward, the Naval Wing was raised in July 1952, thus completing the true representation of all services in the Corp.

Motto 

“Unity and Discipline” is its motto and it was adopted on 23 Dec 1957.

NCC Flag

DAV College, Bathinda In 1954 the tricolour flag was hosted. The three colors in the flag represent the three services of the Corps, red for the Army, deep blue for the Navy, and light blue for the Air Force. The letters NCC and the NCC crest in gold in the middle of the flag encircled by a wreath of lotus, give the flag a colourful look and a distinct identity. Each lotus represents one NCC Directorate (Dte).

NSS DAV College, Bathinda

DAV College, Bathinda National Service Scheme (NSS) is a government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. NSS is a voluntary association of young people in colleges, universities, and at +2 level working for a campus-community linkage. The NSS scheme was launched in Gandhi’s centenary year, 1969.

NSS aims at honing a student’s personality through community service and developing interpersonal relationships and skills. Watching society at close quarters orients the students towards the realities of life, which brings about a change in their social perception.

DAV College, Bathinda NSS symbol represents the “Rath Wheel” of the Konark Sun Temple of Orissa. The huge wheel portrays the cycles of creation, preservation, and release and signifies the movement in life across time and space. The design of the symbol, a simplified form of the Sun Chariot Wheel primarily depicts movement. The wheel signifies the progressive cycle of life. It also stands for dynamism and progressive outlook of youth.

E-Module

Learning Management System of D.A.V College, Bathinda

Introduction:
The Electronic Learning Management System (E-Module) has been designed to provide e-contents related to syllabi of various courses running in the college. This user-friendly module uses the Google Classroom facility and can be accessed by our students and faculty members from their mobile phones and PCs. We have created e-classes for each department and these classes are further subdivided for each teacher of the department. Teachers can contribute to this module by using their gmail-id.

Health & Fitness Activities

International Yoga Day Celebrated at DAV College Bathinda (21-06-2023) Observing the theme of 2023 “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, DAV College Bathinda celebrated the ninth International Yoga Day, in its true spirit and a befitting manner. The program was organized by the NSS unit of the college in collaboration with Natural Yoga Vigyan Sansthan (Regd.), Bathinda under the guidance of Sh. Dalip Kr. Nandan (Executive Engineer, Retd.) and Sh. Om Pal Tomar (Yoga Expert). The assembled gathering practiced pranayam, yoga asanas, and meditation, which made them experience the fresh wave of energy and vigor radiating their whole being.
