Davangere University prior to its establishment functioned as a Post-Graduate (PG) Centre of the University of Mysore from 1979 to 1987 and later, with the establishment of Kuvempu University in 1987, functioned as its P.G. Centre up to 2009.
Davangere University is an affiliating university located in Karnataka India. In addition, the school is only one year old. Also, at the time of its founding the jurisdiction that the school was granted in two districts Davangere as well as Chitradurga. The university is home to 112 affiliated colleges which jointly teach more than 60K+ students.
Davangere University is approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and UGC.
Davangere courses such as M.Com, M.Sc, and MBA at the UG level as well as courses like B.Com, BBA, B.Sc, B.A., etc are offered at the UG level.

Library
The library at the university is huge and has a seating area in addition. It is able to accommodate up to a hundred students at any moment in the. In addition, the library holds the largest collection of print books and other documents. The library's book collection is around 30kplus. Additionally, the library has journals, periodicals, and more are also available. Services like borrowing, reference journals, electronic journals, etc. are also offered at the library.
Hostel
The university has four hostels: two for boys and two for girls. The hostels can host more than 600 students. The hostel is shared on a basis. Additionally, the hostel is clean and tidy and the necessary furnishings are provided in the hostel rooms. Facilities like clean water and internet connection are also accessible at hostels. Additionally, security is offered in the hostel.
Sports
The university organises sporting events at any the time. Events are planned ahead of time and accordingly, a sporting calendar is released at the beginning of each year. Additionally, facilities such as sporting fields for football, and cricket, as well as a basketball court, are also accessible. A running track is also accessible on campus.

The campus offers a placement cell which invites HR and business managers from the industry during the time of placement. Companies also recruit students on campus. In addition, the placement unit educates and helps students develop by conducting workshops, GD, and PPI sessions.

The admissions procedure is based upon the results of the UG exam and the rank lists available during the Karnataka Post-Graduation Common Entrance Test. For students who are not part of the Karnataka board, the college conducts an entrance test. A merit list is compiled and students are then admitted in accordance with it. To be eligible for admission to PG courses, you must be able to score at least 45% marks in your undergraduate degree.
To be admitted to MBA you need to have an undergraduate degree that is at least 50 per cent. The university also accepts the students who have passed the entrance tests like KMAT, MAT and CAT CMAT, XMAT etc. Admission also includes the personal interview and group discussion of each applicant. and so on.

The motto is a famous saying in Sanskrit Tamaso maaJyotirgamaya meaning “From Darkness lead me to Light”. This light of awareness can only be through education. The colour scheme of the logo relates to the atmosphere, colour brown is for mother earth (soil), orange for learning, green for life and environment, and colour yellow for expansion.
