The genesis of Don Bosco Arts and Science College (DBASC), Angadikadavu can be traced back to the year 1992. Mr. Thomas Thanangattu, a past pupil of Don Bosco and proprietor of GINA Engineering Company, a leading construction firm in Bangalore donated six acres of land from his ancestral property to the Salesians of Don Bosco for establishing a college for those seeking a quality institute for higher education in northern districts of Kerala.

Don Bosco Arts & Science College had a humble beginning in 1994 as a Parallel College, imparting pre-degree, undergraduate and postgraduate guides of Calicut University for approximately six hundred students, with Fr. Thomas Poovelickal SDB as Rector and Manager, and Bro. Shaji Kalavanal SDB as Principal.

Devamatha Arts & Science College, Kannur courses are offered at various levels like Undergraduate Degrees i.e Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), Bachelor of Arts (BA) Malayalam, Bachelor Of Commerce (B.Com.) Facilities and Infrastructure

Library:

The college has a Library Council comprising the Principal, Heads of various Departments, Faculty members, Librarian and Student Representatives to assist in procuring books, journals, and magazines. Newly added books are displayed in New Arrival Display Board. A list of newly added books is e-mailed to the staff regularly. The library offers a project report search facility in OPAC. The library also has an article search facility. Important articles in the periodicals and journals subscribed by the library are entered and users can search for it in OPAC.

Language Lab :

English Language Proficiency Acquisition Platform made available in the Computer Lab in the administrative block on the first floor has the latest required paraphernalia like digital multimedia control, headsets, microphones, interactive response control, etc. essential for assessing students’ speech.

Conference Hall:

Don Bosco Arts & Science College, Angadikadavu has a well-equipped conference hall for holding seminars, conventions, and meetings. Conference Hall can seat 400 delegates and has the required facilities for national and international workshops.

Wi-Fi Campus:

Don Bosco Arts & Science College is a 24-hour Wi-Fi-enabled campus. Students can surf the Internet for academic and professional requirements. The college has a state-of-the-art computer lab where students can access the Internet for educational pursuits.

Don Bosco Theatre:

Don Bosco Arts & Science College, Angadikadavu has a full-fledged theatre for screening movies to the students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and to the members of Don Bosco Film Club. World classics are screened regularly for them at the theatre. Students doing their undergraduate and postgraduate courses in English Literature are shown films pertaining to their curriculum. Cable television facility is also offered to students for news updates.

College Bus:

Sports & Games:

Seminar Hall:

Don Bosco Arts & Science College, Angadikadavu has three full-fledged seminar halls. Common Seminar Hall has a seating capacity of 600. Journalism Seminar Hall offers facilities for 50 students. Social Work Seminar Hall is equipped for 150.

Auditorium:

Don Bosco Arts & Science College, Angadikadavu has a very spacious auditorium regularly used for morning assembly, intercollegiate fests, interdepartmental competitions, Onam, Arts & College Day celebrations, and College Union Programmes. Over 1,500 students can have comfortably seated in the auditorium. The beautifully designed stage with the required modern paraphernalia for the performance of all varieties of cultural extravaganza, with the motto “Grooming Generations and Leaving Legacies” superimposed on top creates festive vibes in the campus whenever programmes are organized.

Amphi Theatre:

Don Bosco Arts & Science College, Angadikadavu is the only college in Kannur University with an amphitheatre. Amphitheatre is used for staging plays in English and Malayalam by Drama Clubs, for cultural programmes by different batches in the college after normal academic hours, and for screening movies in the evenings.

Don Bosco Arts & Science College, Angadikadavu is equipped with a state-of-the-art studio with in-vogue equipment and edit suites. Catering to the scholars doing their postgraduate path in journalism and mass communique has an air-conditioned manufacturing andPost-manufacturing unit with the desired technical paraphernalia which includes a teleprompter and great cameras for the manufacturing of tv news.

Hostels:

Alphonsa Hostel catering to the girls doing their undergraduate courses at Don Bosco Arts & Science College is located very close to the campus and is run by SABS Sisters. Being personally supervised and monitored by the Sisters, the hostel is a safe and happy ‘home away from home.
